-Washington & Jefferson College

Intended Major

Does this new ACT put me over the top anywhere? Does it open up anymore doors? I don't think I have Ivy League make-up, but Columbia is incredible, and I would love to spend four years at a top southern school. Chances very much appreciated.

^^^^^Dude Columbia is in the North...

Hey there, you chanced me, so I'll return the favor. I think you should try Columbia if money is not an issue just because of your ECs. Your athletics are impressive and academic ECs are not bad either especially the Scholastic Bowl. For Columbia the SAT subject tests might be a bit low, so you might consider retaking, but ACT is right on target. I definitely think you have a good shot at all the other schools. Thanks for chancing me.

your ecs and test scores are the weak points of your app.
-Columbia - reach, it depends on how much you are willing to spend/can afford
-Washington & Lee- low reach
-William & Mary- high match
-University of Illinois ?
-Allegheny College- match
-Knox College ?
-Washington & Jefferson College ?

I understand Columbia's in New York, the southern school comment was with regard to W&L and W&M.

If it makes any difference all the schools take either ACT or SAT, so they won't see the SATs in most cases, and shouldn't evaluate them in others.

I thought I was in good shape for ECs, one sport each season, scholastic bowl, and a fulltime internship, but oh well.
