<p>Sup guys, this is first time posting on this website. I hope that I have not done anything wrong with my formatting or anything. Besides that, I would appreciate your chancing me for getting into the Ivy League schools and other institutions like Duke. I thank you sincerely.</p>

<p>I’m interested in premed, chemistry, or biology (or some combination of the latter two)</p>

<p>I’m a second generation Vietnamese male</p>

<p>Family makes around 50k a year
4.0 unweighted GPA with about 9 AP’s so far; going for 6 more AP’s in senior year
Top 5 for sure in a really competitive school of about 60 students</p>

<p>SAT 1: 2330 (Only took once) 800CR, 780 Writing, 750 Math</p>

<p>SAT 2’s: Math 2: 800 US History: 800 Chemistry: 750 (Only took each once)</p>

<p>AP’s: World History, European History, Physics C Mech and E&M, Calc. AB, Calc. BC, English Lang., Chemistry, US history (5’s on everything except 4 on mechanics because physics is the devil’s work)</p>

<p>Classes that aren’t AP’s are either honors or electives. I have taken 3 years of Spanish so far.
I plan on taking AP (Stat, Psych, Lit., Gov, Macro, Bio) and Spanish 4 in my senior year</p>

<p>ECs:
Member of Visual Arts and Music for Society at my school for four years; we stage a sort of fair with games and musical performances for disadvantaged children at shelters and the like.</p>

<p>President of chess club at my school (have been in it for 4 years). Casual club though.</p>

<p>Member of top performing Science Olympiad Team for 11th and 12th. Have won multiple medals in multiple events like epidemiology and microbiology at both state and regionals (though highest were in 3rd). Builder and studier in the club.</p>

<p>Have been a pupil of Kyokushin Karate for 8 years. Have won or placed top three in local tournaments. Help the instructor teach little kids in karate too.</p>

<p>Member of Quiz bowl for 11th and 12th</p>

<p>Have been a teacher’s assistant at a local Vietnamese school where we teach little kids how to speak Viet; taught in 9th grade and teaching again once school begins.</p>

<p>Have experienced a year of Youth and Government and other things though I don’t know whether to put those on the app or not.</p>

<p>Plays too many video games.</p>

<p>Awards:
“I paid hundreds of dollars for this amount of AP’s and all I got was this lousy certificate” award from the Collegeboard.</p>

<p>Probably a national merit something or other; 229 on the PSAT.</p>

<p>Princeton Book Award from the school.</p>

<p>Honor roll/half of the general school of about three thousand gets a certificate and pen </p>

<p>I would say, if you are an American citizen, your score puts you in the midst of the applicants for Ivy League schools.</p>

<p>Given that your family makes about 50k p/year it would mean that you will probably need substantial financial aid?</p>

<p>Try to put the focus on your TA experience @ the local vietnamese school and the Kyokushin Karate to try to set yourself apart.</p>

<p>You will definitely need an exemplary essay to get anywhere.</p>
