Recap:
Honestly i would be content with just getting into FSU at this point.
Greatest weakness is unweighted GPA, What do colleges look at the most? unweighted? or weighted? As well as ive retaken a significant amount of classes due to IB, Any advice on essays?
KingOFCruel is online now

You will almost definitely get accepted into FSU.
I don’t know if you dropped out of an IB program or what but that won’t matter too much.
With your solid GPA and SAT score you will definitely get into FSU.
Your essay doesn’t matter much for FSU, it’s one of the least important things to them.
In terms of GPA yours is nothing to be concerned about and in terms of whether weighted or unweighted is better the truth is that neither is, its the course rigor that they look at most.

Long story short you will definitely get into UCF and USF. You will almost definitely get into FSU (99.9%) but UF you probably won’t because your GPA is almost a full point below their average and by the time you apply your SAT won’t be in their midrange.

I just got accepted to FSU and UCF and waiting to hear back from UF so tke my wword for what its worth

it’s weird we have similar stats and my parents are from Nigeria as well. but anyways I got into FSU EA so you probably will too. with your stats the essay will probably be the deciding factor bc you’re at the borderline

Your GPA is low for FSU.

It looks like you dropped out of IB? If so, unless your GPA was really low, staying in IB would help you a lot. FSU loves IB students and they seem to be pretty lenient when it comes to IB Diploma students during admission decisions.

What FSU cares about is your GPA, your course rigor, and then you test scores. Your GPA is a bit low, but you have a very difficult course load.

My only comment would be that, if you did “retake a bunch of IB classes” that you dropped, if any of those original grades were below a C and they appear on your transcript, there is a very good change that you will be deferred from FSU. They take any grade below a C as bad anymore.
