Chance a food science major

Hello all! I am applying as food science for fall 2010 admission. Here are my stats:

-Southern California
-Asian
-3.2 Cal Poly gpa
-27 act (28 english&math,25 reading,26 science)
-decent courseload, a lot of honors
-job 21+ hours/week
-volunteer about 11-14 hours/week
-I put yes for leadership( Yearbook editor)

 • Thanks! My gpa is super low. What are my chances?

Anyone? lol

Thank you.

your act is above average, but your GPA is a little low. You still seem to have a good shot though.

make sure you are just accounting for your math and english act scores

bump. I want to hear more opinions. Thanks.

I think you have a pretty decent shot to get in. I’m not exactly sure how competitive food science is, but according to last years school of agriculture stats, you have a good shot. The budget cuts are the only thing that make your app not a “match”.
I have similar numbers and was accepted E.D. for earth science…3.55 csu gpa and ACT 27. ACT 29 super-scored. Whats your super-score on the ACT? It could be important to their decision, from what i hear.

^^^My superscore is still a 27. =/

But one more month!

Any last other chances out there?

I’m SO nervous. Thank you.

Id say no i dont think your act is high enough to compensate for your gpa

Just hope that other majors like agricultural management, FDR, and animal science brought up the agricultural college’s stats, and that food sciences is a little lower stat wise.

Chance me? 3.65 act 26 major:food science. Thanks!

^^^You have a better chance than me because your gpa is higher. The only competitive major in the ag college I keep hearing of is Nutrition. I could be wrong though.
