Chance a Future ED 2 applicant!

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>well i hear Emory has something called ED 2 and since its my second choice, i think i may apply under that. Interested in ... Pre Med...What do you guys think?</p>

<p>Courseload: Very Demanding IB Program GPA:Fresh 3.7 UW, Sopho 3.7 UW, Junior 3.8 UW</p>

<p>Predicted IB scores will probably be 5,5,6,6,7,7 So like 36... this is just a guess... to put it into perspective worldwide average is 29-30. Then again its a guess ... i may actually do better.</p>

<p>Rank:5/53 (all smart people) I am an International South Asian. No Financial Aid Needed</p>

<p>SAT 1:
Math:760
Writing:720
Reading:660
Total:2140</p>

<p>SAT 2s:
Will take Math 2, Bio and Chem. Probably between 670-730 ish</p>

<p>Volunteering-
(~300 Hours)
-Hospital, Youth Assisting Youth, Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy, Senior's Care.</p>

-President of Medical Society-raised ~1500 Dollars

<p>With all this being said, what do you guys think my chances are at making ED 2... what is the acceptance rate for ED 2 anyway? Thanks a lot!</p>

<p>I'm not sure about the ED II acceptance rate, but I believe it is more than ED I because it is not as popular and less people apply to it. But, as Ardy said, ED II is still binding so don't be fooled by the number. If it's your second choice then you may not want to apply in that round.</p>

<p>Your stats are very competitive and Emory loves diversity, so your ethnicity and international status should help some. Your ECs aren't very strong, however, and seem to lack a concise focus. It seems like you have an interest in medicine. What about writing about your passion for medicine in an essay to reiterate that fact, because it's not showing too well on your ECs. Overall, I think you have a great chance.</p>
