Bump???.. D:

I take it you aren’t interested in my email, haha. :(

I’d say you have just as good a shot as any other applicant! It’s hard to chance for Columbia, since it’s a major crapshoot.

I’m sorry. It’s not that I’m not interested (it really does look awesome) , but it’s just that I have a lot going on right now and I don’t think I could handle more things. I really am sorry. :S
Good luck on it though! It really seems cool! And thanks for the chance; it means a lot! :)

Bump…?
Honestly?
sigh

We need more info:

-what’s your actual rank. For Columbia the unhooked are mostly very top of class.

-have you taken most rigorous classes available? Does your school offer BC calc for example?

Your SAT score is solid but pretty average for an ivy. If you haven’t already taken 3 times (unless C is score choice) improving it will significantly up your chances.

Also, are you an ORM or a URM? Are you from an overrepresented or underrepresented state?

I am ranked first in my class.
I have taken the most rigorous classes my school has to offer (does not offer Calc BC).
I have taken my SAT twice.
I am probably an URM.

Academically, I have to say outstanding. You definitely have a shot a Columbia. However, on your list of ECs nothing really stands out, maybe in your essay you could write about something really unique, something only portrays you. No one else. Don’t get me wrong, you have tons of leadership, etc. but expect other applicants to have the same. Differentiate yourself through your essay :). Maybe apply to a summer program? Do something you’ve never done before the next summer coming up!

Please chance back,

I’d give it a 30% chance. With low average SATs for Clumbia and no exceptional ECs, you have to hope they’ll see interesting things in your background and what you tell them about yourself. Egyptians are not URMs for the purposes of US college admission.
