You’ll get in one of those schools for sure. May not be your top choice but at least one of those really prestigious schools. Definitely do University of Michigan if you are in state. I’d definitely consider that school for undergraduate and save your money for graduate school if you are in state. Your stats are really solid. You should get in at least a few great schools. Chance me back?

@tj1994 that’s what i was kinda afraid of. I really want my clarinet and piano playing to stand out (mostly my clarinet playing) so i think i’m going to send in a recording of me playing, and my essays are about music too. and how should i “market my internships”?

@Chriszeoli
Yup, i’m definitely applying for Michigan, because a lot of my credits i earned at university will transfer there.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I’ll chance back, also! :D

Bump! Improved my SAT Score from 2220 to 2320, with a 12 in the essay portion! :D

any more opinions on my chances? I applied Harvard EA! :)

Good job on the improvement SAT! You’re definitely competetive BUT with that being said, as you probably know it is a crapshoot at all of the schools you listed unless you have a legitimate hook (you are the child of a President, parent donated $20 million dollars, etc.). I would bet that you’ll get in to Michigan and at least a couple others. I say low-reach for Harvard EA. (If I had to place a bet on you getting into Harvard, I would personally say in, but I’m no expert). And just be yourself! You are trying to “market” yourself too much. Seriously you don’t need to put spins on all of your EC’s. It’s easy to tell when someone is spinning their EC’s. Adcoms want you to be you so they know who they will get once you arrive on campus. Good luck! :)

I dont think that asians get a significant disadvantage in the process. It would be minimal at least in comparison to whites. The disadvantage is really if you have lower scores or GPA and you’re Asian, because then you’d seem sub par. You should get into a lot of the schools that hover in the low 20’s for acceptance rate, and will probably get into a handful of Ivies+Caltech+Stanford+MIT. Actually being Asian may help you at the liberal arts schools. You’re def. in at Michigan.

good luck
