<p>Hi CC, my junior year is halfway over and I'm looking for a confidence boost (or reality check) before i start visiting schools. I'm a white male and I live in Port Chester, NY and attend a moderately easy school. I'm about in the top 10% of my grade. My stats are:
Grades-
Freshman-90 GPA w/ the highest level courses possible
Sophomore-85 GPA w/ the highest level courses possible except one
Junior (so far)-91 GPA w/ almost all highest level courses possible</p>

<p>Test Scores
PSAT
Sophomore Year-189
Junior Year-200
Practice SAT for prep course (first try) 1900
My projected score is around a 2200+ so chance on that if possible</p>

<p>ECs
Job since summer of 2010
Many hours of volunteer work at basketball programs, local churches and other little programs
Freshmen Year-
Marching Band (ours is a very well known, nationally renowned band. we were in spider man 3)
JV basketball team
Italian club
Track+Field
Sophomore Year-
Marching band
Captain of JV basketball team
Student Senate
Italian club
Track+Field
Junior Year- (so far)

Anthony Faust (A volunteer group which I am very much involved in even thought it is my first year)

<p>As far as the the rest of junior year and senior year, I'm willing to do anything to achieve my goals so I am open to suggestions. </p>

<p>Now the list of schools I want to get into:
Safeties-U of Georgia, U of Florida, UCSB, U of Maryland and U of Hawaii at Manoa
Everything else-U of Miami, USC, Tulane, UNC-CH, Vandy, Rice, Boston University and NYU
Yes, I know some of these are definitely reaches.

<p>Into UGA, UFL, UCSB, UMD, and Manoa (no idea about that one, i’m just assuming…)</p>

<p>UMiami- (low) match
USC- low reach
Tulane- high match
UNC-CH- low(-mid?) reach (out of state’s hard but if you get sat’s to 2200+ you should fare relatively well… i think)
Vanderbilt- reach
Rice- reach
BU- match
NYU- (high?) match</p>

<p>Well you have many extracurriculars and your grades aren’t too bad. A 2200 SAT score would help, so hopefully you get that. Really the only schools that seem to be reaches on that list are Vanderbilt and Rice.</p>
