<p>I'm currently a high school senior and Duke has been steadily creeping up my list of top schools. I am applying regular decision, but it is a VERY strong option if I am rejected from my early decision school. Any ideas on my chances for Engineering? ill chance back</p>

Rank: School doesn't rank, but almost definitely in the top 10 out of 555
GPA: On an 8.0 scale, i have a weighted 8.65ish (basically straight a+s all through high school with 2 a's) have taken hardest courseload possible
Intended Major: Biomedical Engineering</p>

Worked for 2 years as a volunteer math and english teacher for Breakthrough - teaches underprivileged, gifted kids on saturdays 2x/month</p>

SAT II: Biology 680 (may not submit) Chem 750 Math IIC 730 ... planning on retaking math iic and probably math ic

<p>I’m in roughly the same situation as you.</p>

<p>Your GPA, rank, and test scores are all very good. Your activities are scant and not too applicable to engineering, math, science, etc., but you have leadership in several of them and an impressive awards list. The one concern you might have is that earning an “A+” in all but two courses and getting 5’s on only a third of your AP tests may suggest a bit of grade inflation. Overall, though, you seem to be in very good shape.</p>
