I think you are in to all of them with the exception of MIT and Princeton since they are so so tough. But grades and tests scored are fantastic.

Cornell - Match/ high match
Princeton - reach
Brown -low reach
U penn - reach
Caltech - high reach
GT - In/ Safety (maybe even presidential scholarship)
CMU - In/ match
MIT - high reach

Cornell Match
Princeton Reach
Brown Low reach
Upenn Match
Caltech Reach
Georgia tech IN
CMU Match … probably you’ll get in
MIT Match but you never know…

Cornell: Mid Reach
Princeton: Mid Reach
Brown: Mid Reach
UPenn: Mid Reach
(All Ivies are that hard though, so good luck.)
CalTech: Low Reach
Georgia Tech: Match
CMU: Match
MIT: Low Reach

I feel that there are a few issues with the information here. First of all, one poster said that being Indian will help you, whereas this is not the case. Indians are overrepresented and hence, the standards at these competitive universities for us is higher.

Secondly, you’re grade percentage on its own is largely irrelevant. What’s more is your rank and how that correlates with your grade. Being 4th out of a class of 419 puts you in the top 1%, which is right where you want to be. If you’re school is very competitive and has high standards in your city or in India itself, then that is even better and it makes your grades even more outstanding.

I would say that some of your ECs listed should not be on your application. Unless it is a sport, you did something significant in your EC or you held a leadership position, you should not (shouldn’t have? I don’t know if you already applied) put it on your application. This can be seen with your reference to guitar and the science fair. Unless you play at a very high level, you should not mention guitar as you are padding your application, and there are many other applicants who also play the guitar (what is it about the way you play the guitar that makes you stand out from all the other guitar playing applicants). Also, for the science fair, did you win anything? If not, then you’re not highlighting anything largely positive about your abilities in terms of science.

Cornell: Low/Mid Reach
Princeton: Mid/High Reach
Brown: Mid Reach
UPenn: Mid Reach
CalTech: Mid/High Reach
Georgia Tech: Low Match
CMU: High Match
MIT: High Reach

@Human Tripod- I played several Grades of guitar and my course was properly affiliated. And i was runner up at the science fair i mentioned, I didn’t really describe each EC in the thread so they may not have come across as entirely significant.

Cornell - target.
Princeton - Reach.
Brown - Dunno…
Upenn - Target.
Caltech - not familiar enough, but…low reach.
Georgia tech - In all the wei.
CMU - In.
MIT - Ummm…it’s MIT! But you’re definitely an enormously competitive candidate. Very accomplished and interested in tech-y stuff. Jolly good.

Caltech is one of the most selective undergrad institution in the US. The acceptance rate is misleading. The application pool is ** very ** self-selective. It’s almost as tough as HYPMS. Being international doesn’t help.

Bump… btw people if you don’t mind could you just tell me if you think i would get in or not instead of the categorizing colleges as reaches and matches. Just your predictions would be fine. Thank you.
