i think you have a good shot, your EC’s and awards look really good. but princeton is so unpredictable. people with worse stats than you might be accepted and you might be rejected. apply though. you got nothing to lose.

I am an Indian student myself and had followed the indian curriculum till 10th grade after which i had to relocate to belgium… 94% in indian boards is no mean achievement, trust me. and you have won awards of distinction, so they should aid you. i believe you will have a good chance. please do not think you will get in, as princeton will be receiving thousands of outstanding applications.

@violator: if you have already applied, there is not much more you can do. i know you’re anxious, and we all are for our admissions, but there is little anyone can do about it. as i said, your academic performances look good, and so do your awards and EC’s. they do often ask for higher requirements from indian students, but i think your achievements just might fit the bill. hope for an acceptance, but don’t expect one. good luck!

“97 percentile in AITS”?
“99 percentile in AISSE”

Are these academic honors at all?

AITS is an IIT prep (If I got this correctly) thing. Your performance at coaching centers do not count.

And 99 percentile in AISSE is okay but almost every applicant to Princeton from India will be among the 99 percentile of his/her board. So I don’t think that fits as an academic honor either. What matters, IMO, is how much you get in your boards. Looks like you’ve done well in that (75% scholarship) and that should really help.

Well yea AITS is an IIT Prep so i did not put that on my honors section.

However the 99 .9 percentile thing i still believe counts as an honor though loads of people -in India get it. Also it seemed better to fill in the section with loads of honors as opposed to leaving it partially blank.

^On second thoughts you’re right about the 99% thing. I just thought, you know, it was too common a distinction. I guess it still proves your merit relative to the entire CBSE pool.
