Chance a hopeful!

So I ended up applying here ed…and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for the decision. Mind helping me figure out where I stand?

So people, I am hoping my decent SATs and extracurriculars will make up for my mediocre GPA. It’s upsetting because that’s a good GPA at my school, as teachers are advised not to give out As even to kids who deserve it, because the school is so competitive that almost everyone tests well (they’ll make up excuses for giving you a B despite your 95% test average). I truly love brown, I love the idea of their PLME program and the open curriculum, it’s perfect for me because I want to pursue writing and biology in college. Do I have a shot?

also my bad grades are concentrated freshman year, and i had all As and A+ junior + senior year)

Sure you have a shot, perhaps even a good one. Discovered a new plant species? That has to be novel for a high school student! Your GPA is not exactly horrible for a highly competitive school, you’ll do fine, at Brown or elsewhere.
