Also, my ACT essay was rather low. However my SAT essay was relatively high.
My ACT composite seems to be at the mean for the Business school. However, should I submit my SAT to have the stronger essay score available?

Will my SAT score be held against me or will the admission’s staff concentrate on my ACT score? I know that Georgetown requires that both teats be submitted.

It’s a reach school for me. I’m just curious because I fall around the average ACT score of the business school. I’m curious at my chances. I’m open to hear all of your perspectives.

^^GWU is a pretty decent school, but I don’t think of it as being similar to GU. GU has a much more impressive student body (which is why it’s much harder to get into), superior academics, a better location (you can’t compare the Georgetown section of town to Foggy Bottom), a much more beautiful campus (does GWU really even have a campus?), and a much better and far more prestigious reputation.

I think you’ll have a slightly tough time with those applying as a business major (they’ll be looking for a higher math score on the SATs). But if you apply EA and your essays are quite good, you definitely still have a chance.

Yeah the business school is getting more competitive. It had a really high yield this year, so they’ll probably be waitlisting more people next year. But send all your scores (and possibly send APs too if they’re helpful. Schools don’t really ask for them, but I sent my AP Lang score to make up for my 650 CR SAT, and I got in, so I don’t suppose it hurts.) and kill it on your interview.

I just want to say, test scores aren’t everything. School’s recognize that not everyone does well on standardized tests. You scored higher than a vast majority of people could hope to score on the SAT- remember that. Also, you seem very strong academically so the school will take that into account as well. Yes test scores are important, but they don’t determine everything. They want an interesting person, not just someone who can take a standardized test well. I’d take the SAT again if you can, because it can never hurt. Maybe try some tutoring if you’re worried (that’s what I’m doing). Honestly, there is no way to judge who will get in one year compared to the next. The vast majority of people who apply to these schools are qualified on paper. So focus on what makes you unique when you fill out your essay and when you do your interview. Find something that sets you apart. Otherwise you’ll just be the two-dimensional qualified on paper person to the admissions office.
