Chance a Journalism applicant from CA

I'm starting to like the NU more and more as some of my friends get accepted and I was wondering what CC thought about my chances for the Medill School of Journalism RD

GPA 3.8 uw (4 APs APUSH 5, World 5, english lang 5, Calc AB, all other core classes honors) 4 AP's senior year
rank: 45/864 in class (ELC top 4% of my Magnet class) toughest curriculum at school except for math/science where i took H instead of AP

Scores:

SAT II: World History 700 Lit 660 (yuck i didnt focus as much on these)

Hooks: attended NHSI Journalism Cherub program at Northwestern over summer (pretty prestigious program, lived on campus five weeks, got to learn from professors, meet the dean, needed strong journalism background to be accepted), dedication to school paper, columnist for a local paper

Recs: good, one from my english teacher was spectacular

Essays: I really like them because they show a lot of personality, and a lot of dedication to journalism/communication, intellectual curiosity, and a strong time to the facultycurriculum/campus

Thank you so much for helping me

Since you were a Cherub, why didn't you apply ED?

Your overall profile is a good fit for Medill and you have a very reasonable chance of admission RD. Your extracurriculars and Cherub involvement should certainly work to your advantage. I would not submit the ACT score.

I didn't apply ED because I want to see my chances at some other schools and also see what kind of financial package I can get...I didnt send my ACT score although I do know someone who got in with a 29...thanks so far!

any more? thanks for the help

yay accepted!
