<p>I'm fairly new at this...</p>

<p>Asian female
Desired major: biomedical engineering
Desired career: trauma surgeon</p>

<p>GPA U/W: 4.0
GPA W: approx. 4.7
I have had straight A's throughout high school</p>

<p>SAT 1: 2170 (first time, not much prep...i'm aiming for 2300+ on the retake)
SAT 2: biology 760 (i will retake this in june), physics 710, spanish 700 (i will also retake this)
PSAT: 218
i will take the subject tests for US history, Math 2, Chinese, and Literature, most likely</p>

<p>Academic Overview- </p>

<p>Sciences: biology (9), chemistry (community college in summer), physics (10), AP Bio (11); i plan on taking AP Physics and APES next year since AP Chem isn't offered at my school
Language: spanish 3 (9), spanish 4 Honors (10), AP Spanish (11); if the school offers it, i will take AP spanish lit next year
Social Sciences: advanced standing contemporary world studies (9), advanced standing modern world history (10...they offer AP euro now that i'm a junior...fml), APUSH (11); i plan on taking AP econ macro and micro and AP american gov next year
Math: geometry (9), algebra 2 (10), precalc (11); next year is AP Calc AB
English: advanced standing english 1 (9), advanced standing english 2 (10), AP english language and composition (11); next year is AP lit for me</p>

<p>EC:
-symphonic band: 9, 10, 11--i've moved up to the good band
-jazz band: 9, 10, 11--again, i've bettered my position
-badminton: 9, 10
-summer medicine program: after sophomore year
-volunteering--lots of hours giving food to homeless people and stuff
-paid position as assistant in an ophthalmology clinic--11, will probably continue through senior year--9 hours/week</p>

<p>Legacy at Rice; will probably be able to secure recs from my bosses (surgical opthalmologists, one is a Tufts grad and I don't remember about the other) and AP Bio and AP Spanish teachers</p>
