Thanks! :D

1 ap as a junior? Class rigor is a huge factor in admissions. Not good.

So few ECs, very low SATs…I’d say Yr screwed, better apply @ a community college or get a job @ macdonald’s

^^These people don’t know what they’re talking about. Well, the second might, he’s just unsuccessfully trying to be funny.

Freshman grades are less important than other years’ grades probably, but I don’t know why you feel as though you can take it upon yourself to say they’re the least important aspect of your application. Harvard decides what’s important, and they’re important.

What’s your class rank? Are you good enough at any of your varsity sports to get recruited?

Don’t listen to them. I think you have a good shot at all of those colleges you are applying to.

physicsboy32 - you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. they determine class rigor based on the context of your school; and since there’s only one AP available for juniors at my school, what would you like me to take, AP Imaginary?

do your research.

PS: sorry if I sound hostile. I’m not a hostile person but it irritates me when people say offensive things with no knowledge on what they’re even talking out.

dwight - I just heard it from a princeton sophomore or something, lol. I don’t see why they would be that important… I mean some schools doesn’t even factor freshman grades into GPA… and most students are still immature in 9th grade.

my school doesn’t rank, and I am terrible at sports :P. I’m only on the varsity teams because that’s all my school has, and everyone makes the team. I’m passionate about writing. but don’t judge my writing ability by how I write on here, because it’s the internet so…yeah.

thanks Lydia :)

I would recommend self studying ap’s. Its not unheard of, and its a good thing to do to show colleges you’re capable of a college workload. I’m under the illusion that I think I know what I’m talking about.

I didn’t notice this before, but why only 5 classes? Is that the norm at your school?

wait are you a junior or a senior right now???

LOL, if you’re a junior then all those grades except sophomore year, where you got B’s are projected? xD

are your scores and ec’s all projected because I can’t imagine you have this scores and you’re only a 1st semester junior

physicsboy - hmm, seeing that it’s only late november and thus, near the end of the semester, I’d think that I’d have grades in my classes, wouldn’t you?

and please, get out of that illusion, because you don’t. did you ever hear the phrase “take the most rigorous courseload that your school offers”? my school offers 8 APs, and I’m taking the tests for all of them. no one can take more than one AP in their junior year at my school. I’m not going to self study what, 10 APs, just to impress the adcoms. if you do know what you’re talking about, you’d know that it’s about quality, not quantity (and yes that phrase is primarily relevant to ECs, but it is also relevant to this situation.)

[The Answer Sheet - AP Courses: How many do colleges want?](http://voices.washingtonpost.com/answer-sheet/college-admissions/ap-courses-how-many-do-college.html)

@blambdaj dont give them a damn. you are pretty much all right. im junior too. and i have been playing piano(10 years) and acoustic guitar(7 years) instead. im founder of astronomy class in our school too. so many similarities. yoohoo. maybe we could be friends. lol.

but that 5 on your ap test is projected? All 2nd semester grades and senior year are projected. Ok. How about your scores? Are those all real or projected as well.

And just because I’m being outnumbered here does not quite mean I’m wrong. Self studying 10? Don’t put words into my mouth.

and yes that SAT is projected. On another thread you wrote
“SAT: >2100”

I cant imagine you would have all of those EC’s yet since your halfway through your junior year.

AND MOST OF ALL YOU HAVE LIKE 20 CHANCE THREADS. STOP IT. ALL OF YOUR STATS ARE PROJECTED. HERE IS YOUR 1ST CHANCE THREAD:

"I would like to be chanced for:

Ethnicity: White

Strongest points: The Humanities
Weakest points: Math and Science

Most of the people who said I was wrong must be just as dim-witted as you.

Ohhhh! You caught me!

Ok, I’m a sophomore. I could explain my reasons for this, but since you seem to be so interested in my previous posts, I’m sure you’ll find the answer in there somewhere.
Also, I find many flaws with your reasoning. First off,
“And just because I’m being outnumbered here does not quite mean I’m wrong.” <<< Yes, you are still wrong. My errs do not justify yours at all. You’re still wrong either way, as backed up by my link that I shared with you.
Second,
“AND MOST OF ALL YOU HAVE LIKE 20 CHANCE THREADS. STOP IT.” <<< Who says I have to stop it? You? What are you going to do? E-Punch me?
Second, “…just as dim-witted as you.” <<< I’m sorry to say, but again, that doesn’t quite make sense. I am merely interested in college admission statistics; (an intense interest that that.) Obsessed? Possibly. Dim-witted? No.

While you do your research, you might want to expand your vocabulary of insults.

Assuming that is what you really mean, then why not post a hypothetical instead of making up things? Come back after your Junior year with real stats and a list of schools you may be interested in. I still don’t understand why if you are in High School why you would rely on other High School kids to assess your chances? Do your homework with the schools you are interested in yourself instead of asking the opinion of your peers who haven’t gone through the process themselves. Good luck.

Oh wow, u guys couldn’t even take a joke…
@blambdaj: seriously, there is no point of u, asking whether Yr scores/ECs are good enough…THEY ARE…
Yr scores fall in the range of kidz accepted last year, so there’s nothing 2 worry about (regarding your grades)
&& I don’t think they would worry much about u having only one AP, if u provided a reason y u were busy doing something else (one special EC, maybe?)
According to my humble opinion: do not sweat about your grades very much, better spend more time polishing Yr essays/ interview
Best wishes, really :)

Go PhysicsBoy!

And why would you, blambdaj, lie about your stats? What does this accomplish?

And by the way, there is a “chances” thread on CC. Just saying

@Ten
I am trying to perfect my resume until I get enough people to say “you’re in at cornell” or “you have great chances” etc, so that I can model after it.
I can post my chance threads on here if I want to. Why don’t you go say that to the other 50+ people who have posted their chance threads on here?

You’re so neurotic. Get over it.
