All your EC’s and work experience look great, but the only thing that may be holding you back are your stats. That’s not to say you don’t have a decent chance but for whatever reason NYU’s acceptance rate dropped pretty significantly this year to 27% when it’s generally around 35ish. I’d say try to boost your stats with your final junior year grades and your SAT. Everything else looks great. I’m heading to NYU for the class of 2021, good luck!

does it make a difference that i’m going for steinhardt? the acceptance rate their is a lot higher than average

I personally haven’t heard the acceptance rate being higher at Steinhardt being higher, but what would be more important would be if their average admitted student stats are lower than other schools. What did you see as Steinhardt’s acceptance rate?

Steinhardt is definitely a lot easier to get into than maybe Tisch or Stern, but you also have to understand that admissions is getting more and more competitive each year, which might mean that 1200/1600 SAT just might not cut it. not trying to be discouraging here, just being honest. but you still have time to improve your score (I took my last standardized test first semester of senior year) and another thing would be to work super hard in school to keep your A’s. with that being said, NYU says that their admissions process is very much holistic, and your extracurricular activities look top notch!

Do you have any info on their Paul Mcghee division?

Does being an IB student help? It’s a very rigorous program

If you really want to attend NYU, don’t give up. Your ECs look very good. Your GPA looks fine, depending on which school you will apply to. The only issue is your test scores. But you still have enough time to be better prepared and take a couple more. You can also improve your GPA further, maybe not by much but still. NYU also accepts SAT subject test scores (three required). If you have much better subject scores, you can submit them instead of SAT. You can wisely choose the ones related to your future major at NYU and send those scores if they are better than SAT. Never give up!
