any suggestions???

Depending on how you do on your SAT seeing that you’re a URM you have a good chance at all of them, even Yale…

thnx alot…i’m shooting for above 2100

bump 10 char

bump…

bump
bump
bump

any more suggestions?
please

It’s hard to get an idea without an SAT. You took SAT II’s before the SAT I?

Also, when you say “Top 10-15” do you mean the Top 10-15 people, or Top 10-15%? Also, what is your UW GPA? That should be very easy to calculate if you know your actual grades. A 4.07 with a maximum 6.0 scale won’t be that impressive UW’ed. A 4.07 on a maximum 4.2 scale will be.

You’re in the NSBE, but you’re apply to mostly non-engineering schools, and leaving out the obvious engineering school in GA, Any reason?

I took the SAT II b/c I was studying for the same subjects in APUSH and my Analysis final, so I thought why not two birds with one stone.
10-15%
highest GPA at our school is a 4.3 and that’s the people with straight A’s. Maximum is definitely below 5.0
Our school just gives us our GPA and APs with one added point to our GPA
I love NSBE b/c it helps most of the younger black students to get tutoring in math and science and provides an in depth look into engineering careers, but I’m not interested in careers dealing with math and science. At my school, Black students fair horribly in math and science classes save a select few. Plus I prefer to go to a college out of state.

You know your grades, right? Calculate your UW GPA.

At Yale, 97% of students are in the Top 10% of their high school. Being outside that range will make it difficult, even being a URM. Dartmouth is almost as bad at 91% in the Top 10%. The rest are more forgiving, it’s hard to judge without an SAT I score and an UW GPA.

solid SAT scores would give you a great chance at most

UW is 3.8
10 char.

And you’re outside of the top 10%? Tough school.

Considering that, I think you have good chances all around, depending on the SAT score.

i dont know but i think you have a good chance
if not at ivies than other schools for sure

Honestly, I was pretty impressed by your stats. That said, I’m a pretty conservative chancer.

BU - match
Yale - reach for everyone
Dartmouth - reach for everyone
UMich - not entirely sure - the way people talk this days, probably a reach/low reach
UF - not sure
Vandy - reach
UGA - You’re in state? probably match
Amherst - not sure
NYU - this is one of those schools that’s becoming a reach for almost everyone. I’m not really up on NYU admissions so I can’t really ball park it for you.
UNC - reach

@ applicannot- do you have any suggestions for possible matches?

i’d apply to some more top liberal arts colleges. they really want URMs, so your chances will probably be better. dunno the cost issue there tho.

any more suggestions?

bump
any ideas for safeties?
