Additional info:
I'm incredibly passionate about my studies in English, history, and Spanish and feel I can secure well-done recommendations from teachers in these areas (I already know one teacher I've grown very close to who can write me a letter). I'm also in love with the LGBTQ community and am pretty vocal about my opinions at my school, but no teacher wishes to be the facilitator of a club and there are few LGBTQ organizations relatively close to where I live (generally upper-class, conservative). I have written papers and given presentations regarding the community.

The schools I'm planning to apply to include:

Wellesley (top choice)
Carleton
Barnard
Wesleyan
Grinnell
WUSTL

Thanks so much!

1970 is not low. I had the same exact SAT score and was accepted to Wellesley.

Congratulations! That makes me feel better, I’m pretty much in love with Wellesley. My guidance counselor has me really worried because when he learned of my score, he said, “Weeell… it could have been worse.” Pft. I busted my butt for a 1970… Anyway, are 3 APs Senior year adequate? I feel I should add another but am a bit worried with my workload.

Yeah, a 1970 is fine. I wouldn’t worry too much. Your extracurriculars and grades look great. Just do as well as possible on your AP tests this year and, if you’re still worried about your SAT scores, you can always take the test again! :)

As for possibly taking another AP class your senior year, I’d suggest giving it a go. It’s good preparation for a college workload and certainly won’t hurt your application.

I’m currently a junior at Wellesley, so just let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck!
