Chance a junior that's curious?(:

<p>Hi guys, I'm a junior at a highly competitive high school (over 600+ taking either calc ab or bc test at my school this year.) I'm curious at my chances at:
Brown
Uc Berkeley
Ucla
Ucsd
(Other schools you think I may fit.)</p>

<p>Assuming these factors:
U.w gpa:3.71(9-11th)/3.78(10-11)
Weighted: 4.3?(I've had 5 APs so far.)
Sat:2260, one sitting 800cr/700math/760writing
PSAT:228
SatII: I plan on doing 3: English/bio/us history. Should do well on all.
Aps: 5 on eurohistory, haven't taken it for bio/ap us/calc ab/rhetoric.
I'll have 5 senior year( chem/Econ/lit/calc bc/psych?)
Extracurriculars( the fun part:) ) :
Co-president for Alzheimer's association
Co-prez for debate team(2 years)
Fbla local secretary. (Hopefully president next year as well, and sectional secretary.)
Lead, designed the campaign to bring in new members, doubled membership(around 200!) almost another 100 already signed up to do it next year. Reorganized the officer board, did a bunch of infrastructural work. Obviously very passionate about this organization.
I placed 4th in the state for my event last year allowing me to move on to the national competition.
WorldVision MOVE regional executive board( this is the high school division of world vision international, and because it is in it's infancy, I am working on creating organizations in around 6 different states ATM.) organizing a mission trip to either Florida or Mexico.
National board for World Vision MOVE Next year(hopefully, again.)
Volunteer at a hospital for 4-8 hours a week.
Private tutor, works with a child with ADHD.
Clarinetist, decent enough to make all southern in 9th grade(haven't made it since :( ), I'll be in the school honor group for 3 years though. All 4 years of hs.
Clarinetist for my church orchestra.
I do other various activities/community service I'm passionate about. Example: I organized a benefit concert that raised over 4400 dollars for amnesty international and world vision.</p>

<p>Other things that may or may not matter:
Asian male, nothing especially special(no cancer-beating or coma fighting here.)
I should be able to obtain two awesome letters of Rec, I'm a pretty good writer as well. My gpa is so low because of my freshman year. Otherwise I have been able to manage all As except a b in math every semester after freshman year.(math is the death of me, yet I'm in calc1...)
I will not be doing any sort of engineering program.</p>

<p>Brown:Reach
Berkeley: Match
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Low match</p>

<p>Yay first reply ever! thank you! Does match mean 50/50 chance? Or better? I’m pretty new</p>

<p>Weighted GPA is actually closer to 4.0~4.1 sorry! :(</p>

<p>Update: uc weighted is a 4.23</p>

<p>Your SAT is good, except I think ethnicity really does matter sometimes. So maybe try retaking it or maybe try the ACT if you haven’t. GPA is a little low for Ivies. Upward curve is a plus. But keep trying, I suggest. Awesome extracurriculars; stay consistent in all of them/most. Don’t just rely on you being a good writer. Spend time on your personal statement!</p>

<p>I encourage you to apply to whatever school you want! It’s worth a try, I think.</p>

<p>thank you so much! but what about ucla/uc berkeley? i’m ok with not making ivies, to be perfectly honest. its so far from sunny ol’ california :)</p>

<p>Well, ucla and berekeley are still selective. so, whatever you would do to prepare yourself for ivies, do the same for them. it could only make your application stronger, right?</p>

<p>I think you stand a good chance at all the universities you have mentioned. A stellar essay(a good one would be about tutoring the girl with ADHD) combined with luck can land you in the ivy league.</p>

<p>Chance me @ <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1478187-chance-international-homeschooler-hyp.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1478187-chance-international-homeschooler-hyp.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>Right, ok thank you subzstance(not sure now to tag you, sorry.) and thank you nikhilravi</p>

<p>Danielyangg- Also, your GPA might hurt you. But you still have time to work on it.</p>

<p>Bumpity! Gpa (uc) is 4.23</p>

<p>I chanced you assuming your UCGPA was 4.3 but a 4.23 is not a change big enough to downgrade any chance I issued for an UC.</p>

<p>You’ve been an amazing help, catria, thank you so much for taking the time to chance me! (:</p>
