HOOKS:

I am of Hispanic descent.

I will not be applying for financial aid.

Just so you know, UW doesn’t take Letters of Rec.
Also it would help to know where you’re from (in-state or out of state?)

I think you have a decent chance of getting into UW with those stats. However, if you’re out of state then you will need to improve your SAT score but if you’re in-state then I think you’re around UW’s average SAT score range.

My advice is to work on those essays! They’re an important part of your application and it would be bad to slack off on them.

UW does not consider letters of recommendation in the application process unless you are applying to the honors college. I think you have a very good chance, but this is mostly based off of your volunteering and other extracurricular activities. My GPA was about 3.7 (although my SAT/ACT might have helped since it was above average) when I was accepted this year (and I’m going yay!) so I still think you’ll have a good chance of getting in. Being a URM is helpful too. One thing though, are you in-state or out-of-state? I was an out-of-state applicant and I am pretty sure I would not have gotten in if I was an in-state student since UW needs the money from out-of-state applicants… but anyways, I think you still have a very good chance overall. Don’t sweat it! But don’t slack off senior year either. Good Luck!

Edit: oh yes and listen to Mikasha: write good essays! it really makes a difference.

Thanks, I am an out of state student.

^ You’re in then.
