<p>So these are probably my stats at the end of my junior year. Aiming for mostly UCs.</p>

<p>UC GPA: 3.85 uw
Non-UC Core GPA: 3.86
Number of APs taken: 7
AP exams: AP Bio (5), waiting for AP Calc BC, AP Psych, and AP Chem
ACT: 35
SAT: 2100 (probably won't send this)
SAT Subject Test: Bio 730, Math 2 800</p>

<p>ECs:
2 years of ocean science bowl
~200 hrs of volunteering
~10 hours of paid tutoring so far (probably will reach 50 by the end of summer)
Level 10 exam for the violin
accepted for a summer medical mentor-ship program this summer
Vice president of chinese club</p>

<p>Major Awards:
USABO nationals qualifier
Top 6-7% for the National Biology Competition</p>

<p>Wanting to go to: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, USC, and John Hopkins. How badly will my gpa affect my chances at UCB and UCLA? I really want to go there the most and their average gpa is 3.9 and 3.89 respectively.</p>

<p>Given all the UCs, I am going to guess you in CA. GPA is always considered in the context of the course schedule, but I am concerned about course-load.</p>

UCSD: match
UCI: I don’t know enough about Irvine. Sorry.
USC: high match
John Hopkins: Given your background, I suppose it could vary. It makes sense that you might be a better fit here than your statistics suggest. Low-reach? </p>
