plan to apply to vanderbilt early decision. thank you.

I honestly think you have a great shot! One question though, are you asian? Cause that’ll boost you up a little. But yea, DEFINITELY bring up your sat’s. You never know what can affect/not affect your decision. Just try to be as clean yet as forthcoming as possible with your application.

Since your extracurriculars are geared towards business, why are you interested in Vanderbilt? They don’t have an undergraduate business college. I’m just curious (unless you plan to study economics or something).

Don’t let your application allude to ethnicity, get that out of the way. You may or may not realize this, but being Asian is a huge bonus at Vandy.

Everything else looks fine as long as you can describe why it’s so great. Tons of people “start their own businesses” in high school, some do it on the parents’ buck and don’t make a buck, others have six figure profits, make sure you explain this. Same thing goes for “environmental club”, that sounds horrible without an explanation of its mission and growth. This concept applies to the whole thing: “fundraisers for charity”, etc

ok, thanks. yeah i’m chinese. yeah i want to go to vanderbilt even though they don’t have a business program, its just always been my dream. but isn’t the average sat to get in like 2200 and the gpa is like 3.7 unweighted? thank you.

The key for you is applying ED and showing high interest. The other very important thing is to get your SAT’s up and take the ACT, you might do much better and you do not have to use them if you do not.
