Courseload: more/most demanding (not sure what GC will put, but I have a pretty good relationship with him). Increase in rigor, started lackluster, but junior/senior years are definitely most demanding category.

Rutgers

Context please. How good is your HS’s placement record at schools listed. And how many Asians are in your class applying to same schools? UCLA/Berkeley are longshots. So is Michigan, probably. You should expand your list. Tufts, maybe even Cornell.

Public school, pretty competitive. About 750 kids in my class. Doesn’t give out rank, but my rank would probably be 9-11% i’m guessing. My school’s placement is pretty good at NYU, Mich, Lehigh. Right under 50% for NYU, around 45% for Mich, and probably 55% for Lehigh. Emory, UCLA, USC don’t have enough applicants to make any judgments.

Good list of schools. Add a Cornell or Hopkins in for good measure. Be sure to note the improvement in grades on your essay. Answer this question: “Why did your grades improve?”

^^^the OP never said he was interested in Berkeley…

^^^how could a 3.5 be top 10%. Does this happen to be sterling high school? lol uh emory rutgers and lehigh are safe

we have a weighted system, so my weighted GPA is a lot higher than 3.5. AP classes are +1, and honors are +.67

Jamescchen - just maturity i guess. i didnt have a huge obstacle or anything. i just worked a lot harder as i got older, especially this past year
