Chance a Korean who likes Scattered Privates!

Hey, there. I'm Korean first of all (probably hurts my chances) and I want to major in Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry, or some variant of one of those. My GPA is 3.85 high school weighted (they add like .025 for each semester of AP or community college classes I believe). And I'm pretty sure I'm on track with all the classes. I'm also within the top 6% of my graduating class.

I got a 2030 on my SAT Reasoning Test. However, I only took once early in my Junior year, I plan to retake it in November and I believe I can get a 21XX. I got a 32 Composite on my ACT. I got a 690 in Biology, 720 in chemistry, and a 750 in Math 2. I have never failed an AP test. I have gotten 4s on US History, and Chemistry and a 5 in Psychology. 3s in Biology, World History.

This year I am taking 5 APs: Spanish, Lit, Stats, Physics, and Gov.

As for extra curricular, I didn't do much 9 and 10th just a few community service clubs in which I had no position. 11th grade I joined a club that trains for the Los Angeles marathon. We practice after school 3 days a week. And I am currently training to be able to complete the LA marathon again in March 2009. I got a black belt in Karate during High School in my Junior Year. And every weekend I attend a Christian Youth group. I also have a lot of service hours (300+). However, I didn't do anything productive during the summer ecept go to summer school 9th and 10th grade.

What are my chances in getting into these schools:
Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
U of Pennsylvania
U of Chicago
Stanford
Brown

Oh, and am I near a match for UCLA, UCB, or UCSD?

UCSD is a match, but UCLA and UCB are either high match or low reach. id say more of a low reach. the others are even worse-id say low reach/reach for the privates, stanford and u penn being reach/high reach.

the reason for my harsh chances is because of your lack of ECs along with your "OK" SAT/ACT scores. ur GPA is ok, but it's not going to get you in.

Thank you for the realistic answer. I'm not even sure if I'm going to bother applying to Brown, Stanford, or Penn.

Scattered Privates? That sounds a little odd.

you need a good topic title to bring in the views. :D

I don't think you have much of a chance at any of those with that kind of stats. Who knows, maybe UCSD.

your title is interesting. you have to get those scores up. then you'll be good to go for your list.

A little off topic but is U Chicago decent in Biomedical Studies? On an undergraduate level, would majoring in Biology or Biochem there be anything special?
