First and foremost, I'm a geeky but sociable person. I like mingling with other geeks, but can get along just fine with regular folk. I am also a big political activist and a strong supporter of individual rights. My focuses not only range in computers, but spill into politics, music(A Love Supreme all the way! Avant garde jazz too! :) ), and art.
I am a DREAMer so I am an immigrant who is allowed to study and work here thankfully through the dream act. My family's Income is $20,000.

Prospective colleges:
Columbia Engineering
(Rutgers or Stony Brook) <--- may need help with this one
University of Virginia
University of Pennsylvania
NJIT
SUNY Binghamton
Drexel
Cornell Engineering
Nyu poly

Also, what are affordable and great options for me?
I will also return the favor. Your two cents is worth more than gold for me.
Thank you for reading as well!

Thank you so much for your response, nightcat!
My SAT scores are not that great, but I always hope my ECs and overall personality and accomplishments can help. :)

If you want an Arty scene, look into Bard and Sarah Lawrence. I believe that Grinnell, Earlham and Carleton all consider DreaMers the same way as citizens.
(Carleton is in Northfield, which is a small town with nice performing opportunities and quite a few jazzmen come to play; it’s a high reach though based on GPA/test scores.)
Grinnell would be a reach based on test scores but they’re exactly the kind of school likely to be impressed with your EC’s and by the fact you’re a political activist.
You should definitely apply to TCNJ!

Columbia Engineering = out of reach
(Rutgers or Stony Brook) <— may need help with this one
University of Virginia = high reach
University of Pennsylvania = out of reach
NJIT = safety
SUNY Binghamton = match
Drexel = match
Cornell Engineering = reach
Nyu poly =match

Columbia Engineering - Out of Reach
Stonybrook - High Match(It’s been getting competitive every year.)
University of Virginia - ???
University of Pennsylvania - Out of Reach
NJIT - Safety
SUNY Binghamton - Low Reach
Drexel - Match
Cornell Engineering - High Reach
NYU Poly - High Match

Thank you so much Spirral and MYOS for your chancing!
MYOS, thanks for the list. There are several colleges there that will help me a lot in financial aid!

Lafayette is a bit of a reach but not an impossible one like Columbia.
(You can always apply to the “out of reach” ones if you have the money, but odds are against you so it’s as if you were wasting the money. I wouldn’t recommend doing it for more than one school unless it’s your own money and you decide to spend it thus rather than on new strings.)

For the writing SAT, my score was a 560. I accidentally put in 549. Not sure if that would help. If it’s okay, could you please tell me what are some good schools you know are a match or safety?

No it doesn’t really change things.
Earlham would be a good match. Probably St Olaf (for CS).
Occidental, Oberlin and Grinnell would be good reaches for a young political activist.
