Hook: Hispanic

Thanks guys, I'm a bit nervous and need some help. I will be retaking my ACT score in September and shooting for 30+.

You look like a match. UofM does look at SAT II if provided.

yea man, you have a pretty good shot. and your hispanic hook should help big time. make sure you apply ER and get your app in as soon as possible

Awwww, don’t frown at your ACT score, a 29 is really good. Lacking long term commitment in your ec’s, but because you’re Hispanic, I say match.

Thanks guys. Anymore opinions?

Match. Apply early!

Slight reach - not because of the ACT but because of your GPA. Being hispanic will help…it could go either way. Good luck!

Oh and Michigan doesn’t look at SAT II’s.

Slight reach as well. If you were IS you would probably be in. Raise that GPA and ACT score for sure! Being Hispanic will DEFINITLY help you, but just to safe raise both GPA and ACT since minority applicants have increased quite a lot over the years.

Yeah, I know my GPA is a bit low as well. How could I raise my GPA if I will be applying in the fall?

Generally speaking, even if you apply in the fall, UofM still sees your first semster grades your senior year and they still take it into account when doing decisions (even if you already got in during the fall). To be safe, try raising your GPA during your first semster senior year in case your app is reviewed later near Xmas time and the University requests your first semster grades.

A lot depends on what you’re declaring as your major. If by chance it is Engineering, you probably are a mid-level reach.
