You are correct on all fronts; you don’t have to major in engineering at West Point. However, I believe that @Mwfan1921 and @ChoatieMom were referring to the fact that you would be required to take the first three classes in the engineering sequence along with additional STEM classes (the blue ones in Figure 1, below) that would be more similar to what one might expect for someone going into a STEM-heavy field. As your primary interests are political science and music, there was a question as to whether you think the Core Course Curriculum would be a good fit for you. Do you think it is?
