You might have a chance at Dartmouth or Brown and probably Cornell but Harvard and Princeton are probably gonna be rejections, especially considering your “hefty” financial need.
Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1282445-chance-mit-other-schools.html</a></p>

Harvard and Princeton are need blinds, how could my financial aid requirement reduce my chance of acceptance?

Although your EC’s are stellar, your SAT score is going to severely hurt your chances at MIT and Princeton. Cornell and Dartmouth are better chances imo

I am going to have to agree with Hockeydude664. Although the finncial aid supposedly isn’t an issue, your less than stellar scores will definitely hurt you for Harvard, Princeton and probably Penn. However, your amazing ECs will definitely help you in Cornell, Brown and Dartmouth-especially of the papers are published in well-known journals. Engineering is a top major- there are people with similar ECs yet who have stronger scores. All said in done, you could be accepted to one or two atleast. Chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1295171-how-my-ecs.html</a></p>

Bumping it up…

There’s very little difference between being able to get into HY and DB, some of Cornell’s schools are easier but they have little money for internationals.

The competition between Indian intnls is so fierce, chances are always slim without near perfect scores and national olympiad wins. Needing money makes it all the more difficult as there are plenty of highly qualified full pays from India these days, and the schools save their limited intnl funds for kids from countries sending no qualified full pays.

These will all be major reaches. If you really want a US school, you need to look at schools where a 2000 is a strong score.

your ECs are great; if you could achieve higher SAT scores your chances would increase for places like MIT, Princeton and Harvard.

At the moment, your best chances are at cornell and Dartmouth.
