Chance a Math Geek- CMC, Pomona, Tufts, Babson

SAT: 2140, 1410
(I'm going to take them again, I missed two on the math section which is funny I guess, so add at least 40 points for the math and add 50 for critical reading so looking at a 2230 and a 1500)
GPA: (Approx a 3.1 on the 0 scale)
School: Private Boarding School(Merit Scholarship Student)
8 AP Exams taken by my junior year.
Major: Business/Finance or Applied Mathmatics(Business Undergrad isn't a necessity)
Minors(Ideally my minors): Philosophy/Chem and Applied Mathematics
AP Scholar with Distinction
Varsity football(2 years in HS) Varsity lacrosse(2 years in HS)

GPA NOTE:
To put in in perspective, only around 20-25 kids in my grade(At the most, probably only upper teens) out of 160 have anything above a 3.4. Around 40-60% or 54-96 kids have above a 2.8.
We have a good portion of international students that make up the top 20 slots... I would say my rank is 20/160 or maybe 25/160, but many of those that are above me take weak schedules. I am in the top five for strongest schedule(Only 12 kids take AP Physics(7 juniors), 9 take BC Calc(Only American)).

I have some community service ECs(120 hours of tutoring in the inner city ministries)... Voted leader of a religious experience(A big deal in the Episcopalian community where I live). I have won 2 national math awards and will most likely get a national computer science award this year. I tutored at a I am an avid peer tutor, MUN member, I attempted to start an accounting class at my school but it fell through. I am a member of the math team. I expect strong essays and great teacher reqs. I have strong analysis and logic skills, and I am a strong writer. My interview was amazing and I am convinced that I probably had one of the top 5 interviews the admission officer will have this year(I've done a huge number of interviews through boarding school and colleges already I really do know if I made an impact or not).
Soph year
APWH 5
AP Stats 5
(Self Studied Micro)

Junior Year Schedule(Most Demanding):
AP Physics
AP BC Calc 5-4
APUSH 4
English
Honors Bio

Senior Year Schedule:
Capitalism and Biotechnology electives
Engineering(two terms)(Electives)
AP Computer Science
AP Chemistry
AP English
Linear Algebra-- Pretty difficult class;

I am in the highest level of rigor, no other student is above my schedule. One is tied.

(Although I’ll admit I’m not exactly the expert on these schools)- if your note on your GPA is true and understood by the colleges your are applying to then with your hoped for SAT scores and ECs you should be almost guaranteed into the schools your have listed

chance me back?

On the Rigor scale, a 10+ is Most demanding, I believe I’m at a 12.7 or a 13.5(Depending on if I turn my religious class into pass/fail… I will if I get in ED). I really want to go to CMC after visiting it… I was going for U Chicago and Brown until I visited… Very different places once you visit.

Bring up my post.

More posts would be nice.

Looks like your sat score needs improvement. And that schedule does not seem that rigorous.

It is. Rigor is dependent on the school’s curriculum, and in general Linear Algebra is not taken by many students in any school if it is even offered. AP Chemistry is normally one of the more difficult courses(Especially when the average AP score of a student in this class is almost double the national average; plus the professor was head of one of the most prestigious public universities(science department) before he taught at my school).

Maybe I’m mistaken, but I don’t think Babson is a good choice for a self-proclaimed math geek. You will probably want to take several more varied advanced math classes, or even major in applied math, and Babson won’t be able to accommodate you. I wouldn’t expect much by way of chemistry or philosophy, either. You’re better off at a well-rounded institution, like your other choices.

I am mainly interested in CMC and Pomona… Applying CMC ED I and Pomona ED II(If I don’t get in ED to CMC obviously).

Help me get in please?
