-Definitely need financial aid

Anyways, in my junior year:

Unknown rank, but top 10% for sure.

SATs:
SAT reasoning:
Critical Reading: 650
Mathematics: 800
Writing: 690
(probably should retake)

SAT subject tests (did them in june...pending): probably these though

AP statistics this year, also pending score, probably 4/5

Awards:
-Certificate of distinction in Canadian math contests in Gr.9 and Gr.10
-Qualified for AIME in Gr.11
-Gold standard in Hypatia (Canadian math contest)
-Honor roll for Fermat (Canadian math contest)
-Qualify for CMO (Canadian Mathematical Olympiad), which also gets me qualification to USAMO and APMO
-Hoping to make IMO next year, but it would be too late for applications anyways
-Did bad in Science competitions...Should I include them?
-65th in provincial physics competition, out of a few thousand
-94th percentile in national chem competition
-1st place in school in another national chem competition

Extracurricular:

-Head of Math Club
-Head and founder of Physics Club

I still need to write my essay and get recommendation letters.

Overall:
Pros: Solid national awards, Obvious strong interest and passion for mathematics
Cons: Crappy SAT (so far), unimpressive leadership?, no work experience, minimal voluntering experience

School list:
-All ivies
-MIT
-Stanford
Safeties:
-U of Waterloo
-U of T

Any advice and opinion would be appreciated.
Thank you

Bump.
Thanks poi.

Uhh you should add some better match/safeties. Ivies are unpredictable, as are stanford and MIT. Think about schools like CMU, JHU, U of Chicago, Northwestern, basically top 25 schools  Oh and youre not fooling anyone you dont think that SAT is crappy, i scored almost the EXACT same score on my first SAT, just study CR (i got a 670 first tiem and 740 second time) and another 800 in math shouldnt be hard (i did it)

Lol, it’s the navier-stokes equations.

You need financial aid yet you applied to 12 schools?!?

@westhamunited32: I thought an average SAT score for upper ivy is 2250? I’m going to study critical reading during the summer.
@NclearPakistan1: Cool, someone got the joke!
@DMOC: What’s wrong with applying to 12 schools? The Canadian school applications are really simple and there is no interview. The more schools I apply to, the greater the chance that I’ll recieve financial aid.

Anything else?

You American schools are unrealistic with current scores. As for rank, if you’re just top 10% ivies and peers will be tough with any scores except maybe Cornell. Way too many (especially Asian) candidates with good math/science only.

So you are saying that the SAT is the only thing holding me back?

I think you should get your SAT grades up and more leadership should help. Ivies… I think you can probably get into at least one… but they are still ives and they are hard to predict especially Harvard, Yale or Princeton. Your awards should help you for MIT but I don’t know how much it can help, because alot of applicants for MIT probably have similar stats as yours. I think you should write an essay that can really express your characters other than your scientific or mathematic side.
Chance me as well!!!
