I definitely should have tried harder throughout high school. Would a good essay help me out a lot? I'm confident that I can write a solid one.

I'm Guyanese, which is sort of Indian, but not really.

Will my in-state status help me out with the SUNY schools?

Will applying for financial aid at the SUNY schools hurt my chances (I don't really need it)?

In-state status will help, just as it does in almost every state for residents of that state.
Your SATs are fine for both SUNYs. Your GPA & class rank might be a bit of a concern for SUNY-Binghamtom. I really don't know for certain, but applying for financial aid should not lower your chances for admission--just don't expect much in the form of grants (gifts) in your financial aid package. Although it would be better to get this info. from current SUNY students who are receiving aid.

Thanks for the feedback.

Anyone else?

Reach for Binghamton and UDel. Excellent chances at Buffalo and Albany. Don't know about Siena. Best of luck!

^^^^^

That's reassuring. If I could get into SUNY Albany, I'd be happy. So, I shouldn't have to worry about community colleges?

By the way, would applying EA to the SUNY schools help my chances?

i think you should be able to get into most suny schools. it might be tough for a few, but overall a good shot at most.
