Essays are awesome– lighthearted, witty, and no pity parties. I come from a bad background so I explained that very explicitly in additional info…didn’t try to fluff it up. I don’t want/like coming off as a debbie downer. I was adopted, as said, grew up in a horrible orphanage until I was 8, then was fortunate enough to be taken into a semi-well off home and got the chance to apply to and attend a very prestigious public high school in NYC. I don’t like to consider that special. It’s a life circumstance– so what. All of my accomplishments happened because of my decisions…I don’t like to place them into anybody else’s hands…

Recs are also awesome. A few are from Bloomberg, a head guy at Goldman Sachs, the Surgeon I shadowed/researched with, and my Economics and Physics professors.

So schools, once again:

TOP: Stanford or Harvard

Other tops:
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
JHU
Caltech
MIT
Duke

Lower:
NYU
Emory
Carnegie Mellon
Georgetown
Cornell
UCLA and UCB

i think you’ll get into all of them practically guarenteed as you said due to your excellent recs/ecs/testscores. The only possible way you wouldnt get in would be grades, but a 3.82 is solid. and how did you get to intern at goldman sachs/bloomberg when you were in highschool?

One of my teachers used to work there and hooked me up. I’m not getting paid but it’s pretty cool.

You would have a very strong shot even without native american status. Enjoy Stanford XD.

To claim native american status you might need your tribe membership as proof so have that ready.

Ugh I wish I was native american and black you are so lucky. If you don’t get into those top schools I don’t know who will

Wait, did you forget to report a math subject test score? You need one for MIT at least.

I just forgot to write it down. I got a 740 in math 2

@dancegirl96, while it does help…don’t wish you had my initial upbringing. Orphanages are scary as f***. My resume is still good without it…it’s just some icing

Very creative

This sounds really ■■■■■-like. I don’t see any reason to double-major in Business and Neuroscience, and I highly doubt Sachs would put HS students in stock analyst positions, if they do go under that name at GM. And the two URM’s sounds very made-up. Verdict: ■■■■■.

I don’t think I believe anything the OP stated; it just sounds too good to be true.

I think you should only apply to the one that you REALLY want to go to, cause you’re almost GUARANTEED to get into every school on your list. Leave some spots for other people…like me. haha

Then again, you might just be a ■■■■■, in which case I hope you get into NONE of your schools.

■■■■■ alert. “Recs are also awesome. A few are from Bloomberg, a head guy at Goldman Sachs, the Surgeon I shadowed/researched with”. Yeah right.

your stats are very much other-worldly. If you really do exist, then you’re a match for all your schools. But I feel like this is a made-up app…

Person was wishing for your ethnicity. Not your upbringing. Yours truly would also love to be your race and a competitive ivy applicant. But I’m white

This is too perfect. If this is real, have fun at whatever school you choose. Literally any school. If you’re making stuff up, shame on you.

Next time research you ECs a bit more…Goldman Sachs requires a series 7 and 65 for internship which means Finra sponsorship. Plus no medical hospital would allow for insurance reasons a shadow high school student. Finally you were published but can’t say because it’s private? The purpose of being published is to be public…though my favorite was the Bloomberg references,…enjoy the rest of freshman year.

Ok so I don’t care if this is real or not, but if someone was Native American 2300 + SAT scores, 3.8 + UW GPA, and like semi believable ECs, like 500 hours + volunteers, raised money for charity, Interned at some organizations,
you guys honestly think that they would get into almost any college?

It depends. The interview is important and so is the essay. I heard a great line recently during an interview when I mentioned I have volunteered at a food pantry in my town. The interviewer smiled and said he has spent the last 2 months hearing from kids that have gone all over the world to the poorest places they could find to volunteer, build hospitals, etc and when asked why they didn’t choose a local soup kitchen they freeze up. He said in the end a good admission office can tell when a resume is built for admission rather than a true indication of the character of the applicant.

Did you just make this thread to make us all feel bad

xD
