@spbeccah:

Thank you, I’ve gone back and answered your slightly dated thread, just in case you still wanted an opinion.

@Catria:

Thank you very much, from what I know, you are one of the more experienced chancers on these boards, and your opinion is very meaningful (yes, I know it’s not definite, and that no chancer here is close to completely accurate)

i think all of the uc’s are probably a really good match…maaaybe not ucb but you still look pretty good!
im sure youll get in pepperdine…honestly the only one you miiight not get in is usc…good luck!

You look pretty good for all of those. However I do believe Standford and UCLA are a bit of a reach. But it’s still possible. There’s no real formula for getting into schools. They take a lot into account. So definetely have backups (which you obviously do) and I wish you the best of luck :)

If you have a minute, do you mind chancing me back? I recieve my decisions pretty soon so I’m having major anxiety.

Thanks guys, got accepted to Willamette this week with $14000 merit scholarship.

Here’s hoping for more acceptances for me and you all as well.

Rejected from Cal Poly SLO… :(

How does that reflect on my UC chances?

well SLO does not consider personal statements so you can count on those to boost your chances if they’re well written.
that being said, to my knowledge, SLO is on par statswise with UCSB, Davis, and Irvine.

The rejection from Cal Poly must be tough for you, I’m sorry :frowning:
Not all is lost however, Cal Poly is an increasingly competitive school and you still have a shot at many UCs.

Got three more responses today:

UC Santa Cruz - Accepted
UC Davis - Rejected
Pepperdine - Waitlisted

How does that reflect on my odds at the remaining schools?

I would say that the fact that you seem to be getting accepted to predicted low matches and denied from matches casts doubt on your chances at getting into your high matches and reaches. Don’t give up though, different colleges look for different qualities in an application so it’s entirely possible you could still be accepted at any of your schools! (Except maybe Stanford)
