zoomx3: Yeah international students are ineligible for federal aid, but institutional aid, though limited and highly sought after, is available.

chemE2014: Good Luck and thanks!

I have to agree with chemE2014. I don’t know much about your last 8, though.

wow…awesome stats…i’d say match for all of them except perhaps princeton, harvard, and stanford… ivy leagues are sometimes unpredictable…but then again you can be like my cousin who only applied to Columbia and got in :p

Your SAT and Sat 2’s are great, and you have some very nice awards. The essay must be awesome, since not that many people get to travel as much :P.

I wish you the very best of luck! ^-^ btw, no need to be nervous, you’re doing very well, convey some of your confidence, and you’ll do ever better.

Most of the kids who posted on this thread, are new members and don’t know jack **** about college admissions. This is how I see your chances (I had around the same Sat Score as you, a 2200/2400 and a 1500/1600). I am just giving you honest advise because I have already gone through the process.

MIT - High Reach, Most likely a rejection
UPenn - High Reach, Most likely a rejection
Princeton - High Reach, most likely a rejection
Yale - High Reach, Most likely a rejection
Stanford - High Reach, Most likely a rejection
Harvard-High Reach, Most likely a rejection

Vassar - Match
Lehigh -Match
Tufts - Match
Lafayette (brother currently doing bachelor’s here) - Match
Carleton College - Match
Macalester - Match
Middlebury - Match
Wesleyan - Match

Honestly from my experience, I applied to 15 schools as a senior in high school, you should be more focused on schools like Rice/Vanderbilt/Emory/Notre Dame/WashU/Northwestern/Johns Hopkins instead of TOP IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS, because your SAT SCORES NEED TO BE HIGHER. Again, I am not trying to be mean, just giving honest advise.

MIT - low reach
UPenn - high match
Princeton - reach
Yale - reach
Stanford - low reach
Harvard - reach

Vassar - match
Lehigh - match
Tufts - match
Lafayette (brother currently doing bachelor’s here) - low match
Carleton College - low match
Macalester - match
Middlebury - low match
Wesleyan - match
my sat score is even lower, so don’t worry
good luck

Hello,

I used to work in the Admission’s Office of one of the colleges in the States (don’t want to say which one)… but thought you might like an opinion from someone who a)has experience.

Word of advice, don’t go on anything these people above are saying mainly because 1. they are applicants like you and 2. even if they are not, they are still only freshmen etc. They have NO idea.

But here is what I think:

MIT- rejection
UPenn- rejection
Princeton- rejection
Yale- rejection
Stanford- rejection
Harvard- rejection

Vassar- high possibility of rejection
Lehigh- acceptance
Tufts- high possibility of rejection
Lafayette (brother currently doing bachelor’s here)- acceptance
Carleton College- low-high possibility of rejection but you never know
Macalester- acceptance
Middlebury- rejection
Wesleyan- acceptance

But keep head high! You never know… sometimes colleges can be unpredictable. They might like something in your application- your essay etc. Hope you’re essays were specific and to the point. They don’t like wiffywaffiness.

Thanks for the chance.

It’s a lot harder being an international applicant, and I am not too familar with how your grades and things work, but I’ll make my best guess.

MIT - High Reach
UPenn - High Reach
Princeton - High Reach
Yale - High Reach
Stanford - High Reach
Harvard-High Reach

Vassar - high Match
Lehigh -Match
Tufts - high Match/low reach
Lafayette (brother currently doing bachelor’s here) - Match
Carleton College - high Match
Macalester - Match
Middlebury - high Match/low reach
Wesleyan - Match

Good Luck!

International + financial aid = a long shot at many schools that are not need-blind for internationals (including Carleton). Still, you’re a very qualified applicant and the possibility is definitely there. Good luck!

thanks mflevity…

Thanks for the chance, the ivies are a reach, but every thing else is a match, good luck  thanks again

Thanks funnypunjabi…

First group-Reach,Penn-Low Match
Second group-High Match

Good Luck!

I think you’re pretty solid! Obviously the top ivies are always up in the air and are reaches (no matter who you are!), but they all seem within your range.
Other than the top top ivies that you’re applying to, the rest are all very low reaches and matches.
Keep up the good work!

bump…

MIT-reach
UPenn-decent reach
Princeton-reach
Yale-reach
Stanford-reach
Harvard-reach

Lehigh-match
Tufts-high match
Lafayette -low match
Carleton College-high match
dont know about rest
chance back!
