I think I know my answers...the reaches are obvious but would really appreciate all input.

i sound literally just like you
same psat score and ended up with 2240 with 790 on writing 680 on math 770 on reading
also section editor of paper, taking literally exact same course load as u and have 3.8 gpa
nationally ranked school as well

if u culd just get ur gpa up a little bit i think ud be a great candidate at all the schools
especially if u show a lot of interest + legacy at cornell

i really love wesleyan also...we could be classmates in two years lol

I wish someone would chance me..I don't think the GPA will go up much higher to be honest but I may drop a language next year for some breathing room.

I think you have an excellent chance at all of them.
Being from the East and applying to an east coast school may somewhat affect your chance in that tons of kids from same place apply. I think if you do not need aid either your chances may be better in this bad economic climate.

I am thinking Cornell, Wes, Vassar are real reaches but you bring up a good point about financial aid nowadays...I will not be applying for any so maybe that will help.

I think you have a good chance at all schools if your SAT's are over 2000 but you need a reasonable safety. Think you have a good shot at NYU, Vasser, Sarah Lawrence and Conn. College. Reach at Wesleyan. What about Skidmore, Bard, Emerson or Union for safe privates, or other SUNY schools? I am not sure if they have film or what you are looking for but look around for more safeties. But chance threads in my opinion are difficult. Depends on the year, the economy and where you are from too much. So find a true safety you can live with.

I am guessing my true safety would be SUNY Purchase which is really great for film from what I hear although I also hear that the applications to the state schools are expected to double or triple next year due to the economy. I know about Bard but have not heard anything good about it from friends so that is off the list. I really love Vassar and am hoping my swimming may help too.
