I agree with pretty much everyones posts. Your GPA/SAT are a little low for Amherst/Yale but you are like 10 points below Wesleyan’s 25th percentile.

HOPE WE BOTH GET IN! If we do hit me up haha

Thank you all so much for your replies. I am also very interested in holy cross for pre med. If i get rejected at Wes, then i will definiltley apply ed there. Ed is due dec 15th at hc, and my results get back before then. According to naviance, i have a pretty good shot at hc from my school with my sat (gpa is .05 below av accepted student from my school). What do you guys think about my chances at hc?

According to my guidance counselor he says that with my essays and ecs my matches would be trinity, conn college, nova, bu, and holy cross (high match). My safeties are Fordham, union, and Uconn (everybody in my school gets into these, and i place well above average in naviance). My reaches would probably be the rest, with nyu being a high match to low reach and the same with u rochester. These are my counselor’s thoughts.

Unfortunately I don’t know enough about the schools listed. The ones I do know
NYU - High Match

The only few I’m familiar with are:

Boston college: I think you have a pretty good chance. They are big on ecs. Although they are unreliable.

Boston university: you will most likely be accepted

Yale: definitely a reach but they take into consideration staff/alumni relations so you never know

UCONN: you will most likely be accepted. I know many who have had way lower SATS and less ecs than you and got in.

Fordham: very good chance

Con college: pretty good match for you

Villanova: good chance

Good luck! Hope ED works out

Yale University- Uhm uh. I want to say High High reach, but considering your Amazing ECs and your Mother, I’m going to go with mid-high reach. Probably not, but you never know.

Thank you all so much for the replies!

buuuuummmmmmmmmmp

I’m not as familiar with some of the colleges you listed. Your GPA may be a limiting factor as you and others suggested, but you’re from a more competitive school, which should mitigate that a little bit. Unfortunately your SAT is well below the mid-50% range at some of the more selective schools you mentioned.

For the schools in which you can get by with GPA/SAT, you should have good chances if your essays are good and you should be able to separate yourself from many other med-bent students. I can’t comment further other than to say that your extracurriculars are likely your strongest point visible to others.

Amherst College- high reach
Bates College - reach
Boston College- reach
Boston University - high match
NYU - high match
Tufts University- reach
Union College- high match
UCONN - low reach
University of Rochester - high match

Wesleyan University (ED)- reach but ED acceptance rate is around 50% so im praying ill get in
Yale University- high reach

I require some help
I am Indian student looking forward for undergraduate studies in USA and Singapore. I want to major in Computer-Sciences. I am confused as I am unable to decide which university to apply for ?

MY SAT-I was not as good as SAT-II.
SAT-I in January CR:450 W:470 M:800 TOTAL=1720
SAT-I in May CR:480 W:560 M:740 TOTAL=1780
SAT-I IN June CR:490 W:610 M:750 TOTAL=1850
SAT-Highest with all 3 sittings CR:490 W:610 M:800 TOTAL=1900

SAT-II in first sitting in November
Maths Level 2 : 800 Physics : 800 Chemistry : 800

I obtained 9.6 cgpa off 10.0 in 10th grade. I am sure to secure above 90% in Indian 12 standard CBSE exams.

I am also good chess player who has won gold-medals at district level competitions and participation at state and national level competitions
I was selected Best-Chess player and captain of school’s under-19 chess team.
I have won MS-PowerPoint presentation competitions at inter-house, inter-school and tri-city level competitions
I was selected Best-computer wizard of the school and the house.
I have been student body head of school newsletter publishing department and reported directly to vice-principal and house mistress.

Now, the problem I am facing is that I dont know which colleges/universities I should apply to. With perfect scores in SAT-II some of my friends told me to apply to elite colleges like Ivy league, but I think they are crazy. Some people say with 1850/1900 in SAT-I you are not going to get into even good universities like UCSD and Ohio State university what to talk about Ivy league.

Please tell me which colleges should i apply to and please do rate my chances in the following

UCLA
UCSD
UC Berkeley
Georgia Tech

DREAM CHANCES

Stanford University
IVY LEAGUE

Your sat I is significantly below the median of accepted students at most of your schools; however, your sat IIs and international status will definitely help you. I am not familiar with your school’s grading system, but it sounds like you have around an A or A- average from what you have written, which is solid. Your extracurriculars sound good, but not exceptional.
UCLA- low reach to reach
USCD- not too familiar— high match?
UC Berkeley- reach
Stanford- high reach
Remember that these are just my opinions. You may have a much better shot at these schools.

Does anyone know what my chances would be at Holy Cross for Regular Decision?

Bummmmmpppppp
