This information is also on the UT admissions research page.
<a href=“Research – University of Texas Admissions”>Research – University of Texas Admissions;
Choose “Top 10% Report 12 (October 2009)” or “Top 10% Report 11 (November 2008).”

Don’t be a nervous wreck. If you don’t get in, you can go to a CAP school for one year and then come to UT the next year.

What is capped anyway?

You get offered admission to another school in the UT system (UTSA, UTA, etc) with guaranteed admission to UT Austin after a year if you’ve maintained a certain GPA, etc.

how deep in the 2nd quarter are you? Are you at least top third?

Even then, your chances are pretty slim

Very slim chances. Take the CAP route if you really want UT.

But what about the major at hand? I heard College of communications was really easy?

If you are applying for a rare major, this is a bit of a tip, but I don’t think Communications falls into this category. Teaching, Geosciences, maybe Hindi-Urdu? Majors they want to fill that they might not be able to fill with top 9% Texas kids.

Comm Stds - Corporate Comm, that is the specific major i applied for

Please let me know Thx
