I cant believe I'm actually posting one of these, but I have no idea what my chances are for Davidson as there is no naviance data at all from my school (I may be the only one applying in the past five years).

I got to a high ranked public school in MA

GPA: 3.5 unweighted (all honors courses, 5 APs)
SAT Reasoning Test: M: 790, CR: 660, W:720
SAT Subject Tests: Math Level II: 800, Chemistry: 790, US History: 710
AP Tests: US History: 5, Chemistry: 4, (I will be taking US Gov, BC Calc, and Biology in May)
Extra Curriculars: My main extra curricular is rowing. I have been captain of the school crew team for 2 years, we have been one of the most competitive public school teams in the past year and I sent in a recommendation from my coach.

Does anyone have any insight for me? Or just more generally how Davidson usually treats northern kids from schools that don't usually send Davidson a lot of applicants?

You look very competitive. I’m also a northerner (NJ) from a public school and got in with a 30 and your GPA.

Crew will definitely stand out.

thanks! It’s one of my top choices, so fingers crossed

We are from Mass. and my d was accepted with a bit higher GPA but somewhat lower
overall test scores. Very similar results on the AP front. One of her main ec’s in high school (private NE
boarding school) was rowing and she has continued with it at Davidson.

If Davidson turns out to be your number one choice, I would encourage you to consider
applying in one of the ED rounds. On the face of it, I think you have a good shot at getting in and the crew team could use you lol!~! (note, it’s a club sport with a somewhat limited fall and spring race schedule but the kids love it and the lake venue aka Lake Norman near campus is gorgeous)
Feel free to PM me if you would like any sort of additional info, I’d be happy to help.
It’s a terrific school and my d is loving every minute of it.

sorry Kant, I may have misread your post. If you applied already for next fall, I
think you have a very strong shot.
Best of luck and let us know how it turns out!

Hey dont know much about getting into davidson but I have grown up in the town, it has great rowing, I have spent much time at its lake campus. Northern people are welcome here tons of people from up north I have talked to some going to davidson saying there are never going back north cause they like it down here! Well good luck hope u get in.
