Chance a NON-asian for HYPS (also have questions about app)

Hello. I'm fairly new to CC, but my friends have all made chance me threads and encouraged me to do the same. So here I go.

--Basic Info--
Sex: Male
Race: Dad is Cuban, mom is Venezuelan, both born in the US though. I also have a white-sounding last name. I think I'm still an URM?
School: Public, sends around 10 grads to top schools (half going to HYPSM)
Legacy: Dad - Princeton for undergrad and Harvard Law; Mom - Columbia undergrad
Track: Pre-med, hopefully

--Scores--
SAT I: 800 CR, 770 M, 800 W (12 Essay) = 2370
SAT II: Bio-M (800), Physics (800), US History (800)
GPA: 4.0 Unweighted, I don't know my weighted GPA
Rank: 2 / 521 (I may end up Valedictorian after this next semester)
AP:
-Comp Sci (5)
-World History (5)
-Calculus AB (5)
-Biology (5)
-US History (5)
-English Lang&Comp (5)
-Physics C (5 on both)
-Chemistry (5)
-Macroecon (5)
-Microecon (5)
-Psychology (5)
-Calculus BC (5)
-Art 2D Design (5)

--Awards--
-National AP Scholar
-Commended National Merit, should be semifinalist though
-Siemens semifinalist
-2x USABO semifinalist
-Made it to Physics Olympiad's regional semifinals
-Bunch of insignificant school awards

--Extracurricular Activities--
-Conducted research with Stanford's biotechnology department (2 summers)
-Published genetics research papers in academic journal
-Medical intern for private clinic (did this during my Freshman summer, not sure if it counts)
-Volunteered at therapy clinic (also Freshman summer)
-Paid tutor for middle-schoolers, TA and tutor for Bio (over 300 hours, even spent a week tutoring refugees as part of an outreach program)
-Started Hope for Africa club at my school (organized a fundraiser that raised over $3000 for water for African Children)
-Student Council Vice President (random community service projects through this)

--Essays and Rec--
Will probably write about my experience with the PCR and dealing with the ExoSAP-IT and whatnot.
I might get a rec from my research director, but I think my teacher recs will be so-so. Counselor rec will probably be generic though.

--Art??--
My main question is regarding whether or not I should submit an art supplement. It's really something I do for fun when I have time (which I rarely ever do nowadays). I did take AP Art and got a 5 on my portfolio, but I wouldn't have much to put on the common app arts resume aside from being featured in a few student galleries.

^Those are some examples of my work.

--Chances To--
-Harvard (do I have legacy here?)
-Yale
-Princeton
-Stanford
-Columbia
-Duke
-WUSTL
-Berkeley
-Rice

Thanks!

one word: WOW

GREAT APPLICATION and since you are a legatee, makes your chances a LOT more higher.

You are match/low reach in all of them young man :D

Wow, personally I feel that any school would be lucky to have you. Wishing you all the best! Hope you get into where you want.
Btw, your art work is truly amazing. What medium is it?

You’ve done what you could do, T. Kelly.

oh my god, wow you are unbelievable. i feel harvard is the best match for you, and i’m pretty sure that you are legacy there since your dad went to graduate school there. My advice is don’t apply ED anywhere because it limits your option.

WOW You are more qualified than anyone I’ve ever seen. You are also a legacy and non-asian (lol) plus your art work is amazingg.

In a word: AMAZING!

amazing application. you have REALLY good chances at all these colleges, especially with the legacy and maybe URM status(LOL). Good luck, and dont worry- u’ve worked hard at a really good resume!

I don’t usually respond to chances threads, but being from your mom’s country, I am going to respond. You have an excellent chance at all of the schools that you mentioned. I do have a question, though: Were you recognized by the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP)? If so, be sure to mention this on your applications.

OMG you are OUTSTANDING. Btw…I am EXTREMELY conservative when I give chances on these type of threads. However, I am completely and utterly impressed. You have to know that you are in probably at every single HYPSM. The fact that you are a URM who is as smart as the whites/asians makes you a shoe in regardless of your ECs. However, even those are amazing. Then, on top of the fact that you are a URM, you are a legacy. Wow, I would be shocked if any of those schools denied you.

Good Luck (though you dont need it = D),
Robbie

hey, not bad. Best app I’ve seen so far on CC actually. Plus your URM status, you’re an easy match for all as long as you get good recs.

Looking at you’re resume I’d have guessed that you were asian lmao. You’re alot like me actually (rising junior, USAMO, usabo semis, aspiring usabo finals/rsi/siemens/intel) and wants to do premed.

I’m sorry. You have no chance at any of those schools. Plan on a community college.

might want to retake that SAT I again

Honestly, I couldn’t even read the whole thing because I wanted to cry…if I’m up against people like you I have no chance. hahaha.
Well, you’ve heard the crowd, I really have nothing more to add, congratulations on being fantastic, I have no idea how you took so many AP classes and managed to be perfect in all of them. Best of luck to you.

AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!
good luck:)

Hey, I resent that NON-asian part… what the heck is that supposed to mean, and what does it matter? You already mention that you’re Hispanic.

Otherwise, though, I feel that you have a very strong application. Of course, even for those with legacy, HYPS is by no means a match for anyone, unless your parents have donated a couple of libraries and a lab or two. Still, you definitely have a good chance at those colleges, though I suggest adding one or two “safety” schools, just in case? (Unless Rice or Berkeley are you safeties, in which case…wow.)

oh. my. goooodddd…
you’re about as CLOSE to GUARANTEED ACCEPTANCE as anyone can get.

That art is amazing. Really, it is. I am very jealous.

No matter where you go, that school is beyond lucky to have you.

You be ■■■■■■■■, son.

Didn’t realize you were a 21 year old female from Australia.
