Hello I am currently a Penn State student looking to transfer to another school. The reasons I am transferring are because PSU does not offer an economics degree through the undergraduate business school and only through the liberal arts college. I would also like the degree to be focused on applied economics(business economics). I would like to transfer to a better ranked school for my major and a more academically focused school. I want to go to school in a more urban area as well. Please give me your thoughts on where I stand and I will also chance you back!

Schools I am applying to: Upenn(Wharton or CAS haven't decided yet), Cornell (Dyson), NYU (Stern), Columbia, Brown, Yale(just for fun), UChicago, Georgetown, Berkley, and Notre Dame.

that has a lot to do with financial aid doesn’t it? I saw other threads with people posting it and I didn’t feel like answering questions like “can you afford Berkley OOS tuition” I wasn’t doing it to brag or anything.

also here are my courses I have taken(note that I am not a strong math student but am doing much better)

Semester 1
Political Science: American Government Relations
Molecular Chemistry
English Rhetorical Composition
History of Jazz(gen ed art requirement)
Statistics

Semester 4(classes I will be taking)
Honors Effective Speech
Honors Macroeconomics
Accounting(combines financial and managerial)
Calculus
Computer Science C++ Programming

Also how much will my High School Stats matter? I struggled in early high school but then showed an upward trend in gpa towards the end of high school and into college. My overall hs gpa was like a 3.2 but then 1st semester I got a 3.67. 2nd semester I got a 3.75 and this semester looks like a very promising 4.0 as long as I keep my head in the books. Will this play a factor in my admissions decision. Also my sat was like a 1150 out of 1400 I am willing to retake it though if it will have a large impact on my app.

Looks to me that you have a great chance for Georgetown, NYU, and Berkeley. Ivy Leagues are reach, but I don’t think they are too far off, you have had great academic success in college which they’ll love, it shows that you can handle their coursework.
