chance a photographer?

<p>Background:
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Sex: Female
Residence: FL
Income: Low, Dad is a teacher, Mom runs the plant nursery that we currently live on. (small business, not doing well)
Graduation Year: 2010
Major interests: Biomedical Photography.. (RIT has a major for it, I would create an interdisciplinary major at Scripps or Pitzer, and I would major in Photography at places like Bard, Hampshire, and SVA)
School: Private, not sure how competitive
Class Size: Around 300</p>

<p>ACT: 27</p>

<p>SAT II's
Math I: 600
Chem: 560</p>

<p>SAT:
USUALLY just below 1800.
-I'm taking my SAT's again (with extra time for recently diagnosed ADD) because they were low for my usual untimed practice test scores.</p>

<p>GPA:
3.0 UW.. increased from freshman year to senior year dramatically after given proper medication for ADD (possible essay topic...)</p>

<p>-Scholastic Art Awards: 2 Gold Keys, 3 Honorable mentions
-Had work hang in the Drexel Student photography contest exhibit
-2 2nd place school level literary awards
-Photography Club Treasurer (In highest photo class offered at my HS), possibly the president this coming year
-I volunteer with the lower school chess club (since 9th)
-Got $3000 need-base scholarship for Ringling Pre-college last summer
-Interned at a local photography studio this summer
-Photography center summer program (between 9th and 10th)
-Outstanding student award in Photography (x2), Computer Graphics, and 2D Animation
-4 photographs featured on a Stock Photography site (Student competition, only HS winner)</p>

<p>What my essays would be about:
-How the RIT representative at National Portfolio Day recommended me for the Biomed. photo major, a major I hadn't heard of at the time. (They also have something in their system written about me, including his recommendation for biomed. photo)
-my endless list of medical problems leading me to want to be more of a medical photographer.
-my ADD and how it wasn't diagnosed until last summer. Went from straight C's in regular classes to A's and B's in Honors classes after given the proper meds. <- why I have a low GPA
-Spent 2 months in a wheelchair, so I self-taught myself HTML while home from school.</p>

<p>My Photography:
JPG:</a> People: Casi Fleischman
-Mostly macros and abstract pictures.</p>

<p>The colleges I'm looking at are: RIT, Pitzer, Scripps,Hampshire, SVA, and Bard</p>

<p>Any colleges I should look at? Financial aid is a big must-have, also looking for colleges other then Pitzer and Scripps with interdisciplinary majors that I can create for Biomedical photography</p>

<p>buummppp…</p>

<p>bump…</p>

<p>Nice shots! I’m not too familiar with the schools you mentioned, but I thought I’d drop by and give some general advice. If it’s possible, try to improve the SAT and GPA (again, I’m not too familiar with the schools, and your current stats might be sufficient). I think photography would make you stand out an interesting student who could bring something to the table; you could also mention your learning difficulties in your essays as well and kind of explain your background. </p>

<p>I’ve been doing a bit of my own photography as well (started in Jan 2009). I have a flickr here, but I do landscapes/portraits/nature instead of macros/abstract: [personal</a> favs](<a href=“http://www.■■■■■■■■■■/photos/17547415@N06/sets/72157621888828768/show/]personal”>personal favs | Flickr) I’d love to add you as a contact if you have flickr as well (:</p>

<p>If possible, could you chance me back?

<p>Thanks (:</p>

<p>Thanks for the advice! With my ACT I’m middle-range with pretty much all the schools. I’m taking the SAT in October again so hopefully it’ll get better.
-You have great pictures.Especially for starting so soon! You mus have a natural eye. I love the ones where you take advantage of negative space.
I’ll definitely chance back. :]</p>
