Comments:
Do you guys think I have any chances for my schools, particularly Yale and Columbia? I thought I wrote nice essays and my recs will be good/great. However, my senior year grades are crap.

I think you have pretty good chances at all of those schools, although Columbia and Yale are reaches for everyone of course. I would suggest trying to earn some sort of award or recognition, since grades alone aren’t enough to get into some of those schools. I think you should add a few safeties and low matches as well, “just in case”.

bump 10char

-Yale - high reach
-Columbia- reach

-Cornell (Engineering) high match

-Duke -low reach

-Carnegie Mellon (SCS) high march/

Why are Ivies mostly high reach :(

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1064001-hy-amherst-cornell-georgetown-duke.html</a></p>

Carnegie Mellon- high match/med match??
Columbia- do-able reach
Yale- reach
Cornell- high match
Duke- high match

Your ECs aren’t consistent because the majority were only started in 11th grade so that may not be good. Your scores and GPA are great though but then that factor is undermined by your lack of awards… You have a decent shot everywhere though. Good luck!! Chance me?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1057649-wheel-chance-what-goes-around-comes-around.html</a></p>

I would say you have a 50/50 chance for all these schools since your grades and scores are all extremely good. What makes a difference in this case is your application essay! Good luck!

If you got time, chance me back :]

bump 10char

-Yale — mid reach
-Columbia (SEAS) — low reach
-Cornell (Engineering) — high match
-Duke — low reach (they’re consistently inconsistent so there’s never a sure in there)
-Carnegie Mellon (SCS) — mid/high match

Good Luck!! Write great essays and there’s a chance you’ll be going to an Ivy next year!

Chance me back?

-Yale: High Reach

-Columbia (SEAS): Reach

-Cornell (Engineering): High Match

-Duke: Low Reach

-Carnegie Mellon (SCS): High match

Nice Stats. You’ll get into a great school

Please Chance Back?

I think you have a shot at these schools…but certainly nothing close to a definite acceptance (…like no one gets anything close to a definite acceptance at any of the schools you listed in terms of chancing…it’s all luck ultimately). Have you applied to any safeties? Did you apply anywhere early?

I think you have a solid chance at all these schools with the exception of Yale and Columbia b/c they just compete with each other to see who is more selective, which is totally pointless.Btw, does Indian count as URM at these schools?

Please chance me back
