I’d say your almost in at all schools except Fordham, Brandeis, McGill, and USCGA. Since I know a ton about USCGA I’ll focus on that.

Your sailing qualifications will really strengthen your application. Your GPA and SAT’s are a tad low for the school. If you haven’t already applied to USCGA, make sure to change your essay topic. This is the Coast Guard for gods sake, they don’t care about school plays. Talk about leadership! Thats what they want to hear. They want to know that spending $400,000 on your education is well worth it. A good essay topic might be, how you applied your sailing knowledge to both assist students and your team, or something along those lines. It would be nice if you had more leadership roles.

I am applying to the United States Naval Academy and United States Coast Guard Academy. I will just barely get into USNA. And I still haven’t gotten into USCGA. These are my stats so you can have something to compare it to. I thought this was pretty qualified, but my BGO says that these put me in the Middle 50%. I thought he was joking because I have 1500 comm service hours. He says that isn’t uncommon. I probably won’t go to the Coast Guard Academy if I get accepted, my goal is USNA. I’m most likely in there because I’ve pulled a ton of strings through my contacts, but if I don’t I’ll probably just do ROTC.
