common app essay: good enough to be deferred by Princeton, but not amazing...
supplement: great, I love it

so how are my chances looking? I realized that after I wasn't disappointed about Princeton, Cornell was my first choice.

oh…I’m applying to CALS, instate, as a Biological Engineering major…

You seem like a pretty solid fit to me, although CALS does mention that it likes to see a reflection of some environmental interests/CALS principles in your ECs, but yours are still quality activities.

thanks worried ~ my school doesn’t really have too many extracurriculars, so it’s tough in that sense, but I really appreciate your insight =)
just made a 2230 on the december SAT, does that change anything?

I think you have as good a chance as anyone, and a better chance than many.

yeah! zaza i totally understand that, my school is actually even smaller than yours with maybe 112 in my graduating class. that’s why most of my activities were done outside of school, but they also weren’t so “targeted” towards my school/major (ilr), although ilr says it emphasizes leadership rather than activities focused on the content of curriculum, which cals does sometimes look for. but, that 2230 can only help you! it will look great next to your 24 as well. i think that as long as your supplement shows them you’re passionate about bio-engineering, you should be great.
good luck!

Zaza!!! You’ll be fine.
(Za)^2?

@LolCowz, do I know you? LOL

regardless, any other opinions? should I take the chem subject test in january?

anyone else? please! I’m spazzing out! =(

bumppppppp =)

bumpitchka

Your stats are very good. I think you have a very solid chance. About the Chem SAT ii, you already have an 800 and 750, so you’re in good shape, I don’t know if it would be worth it. Unless you’re confident you could get above a 750 without killing yourself studying, then go for it. Good luck!

yeah no way I could get a 750 on chem…

please…Cornell is my dream school lol (don’t ask why I didn’t apply ED lol)

Bro…why didn’t u apply ed then? LOL.

I don’t think I could go through life thinking what if I were to get into Harvard, Yale, or Princeton…I’m a “what if” kinda guy

Bump? 10char

Could anyone give an approximate percentage chance?

Here’s the best I can come up with for percentages
