P.S. I'll chance back whoever chances me, if you leave me a link :)

P.P.S. I’m open to any and all suggestions! Whether they be something I should do or fix in my app or a college I should apply to…

and I’m also kind of a first-generation American. One of my parents was born in Puerto Rico and the other in another country, so I don’t know how that factors… and both my parents never got a bachelor’s degree.

URM+ First Generation+ Your stats+ maybe ED if FA is not a problem= great results.

If you get a 2150+ I can see you get into the middle ivies. ( Dartmouth, UPenn)

I agree, your stats are good, especially with those awards (congrats :)). Also, your racial status is a bonus. If you improve your SAT a little more, I think you are in at the University of Chicago, Florida State, Washington U, University of Florida, and University of Miami. Like NuclearPakistan said, you also have a good shot at the lower and middle tier ivies. The upper ivies are a crapshoot for anyone, so I can’t really say about those. good luck!

Thanks guys! Do you think it helps that I skipped a grade or hurts because they might think I’m not mature enough?

Bump

bump "/
10 char

If you can bring ur your SAT to around a 2200, the top ivies can be referred to as reaches
and the middle ivies can be referred to as high high matches
i think you will get in at the rest of your universities because of your ECs and your URM status

BUMP! "/ pleasee :)

1- Harvard College- HIGH REACH
2- Columbia University-HIGH REACH
3- Duke University-MODERATE REACH
4- Yale University-HIGH REACH
5- University of Pennsylvania-HIGH REACH
6- Georgetown University-MODERATE REACH
7- Princeton University-HIGH REACH
8- Washington University in St. Louis-ALMOST MATCH
9- University of Chicago-MODERATE REACH
10- Boston College-SLIGHT REACH
11- University of Florida-MATCH
12- University of Miami-MATCH
13- Florida State University-MATCH

When you say MATCH for the last three, do you mean safety?

Your UW GPA is a little low but nevertheless being a URM and 1st gen will definitely help. My guess is crapshoot for Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, mid-reach for Duke, Columbia, and UPenn, and in for the rest.

Chance back? :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/733841-chance-rising-junior-will-try-chance-back.html

hey im from miami too… what school do you go too? I go to palmetto but anyways I would probably look for more moderate schools like maybe wake forest, michigan, lehigh, case western that are more match/safety and can probably give some good merit aid… hope it helps

i think because of your ethinicity being a highly under-represented ethinicty, if you get over a 2100 on your SAT and do really well in your interview you will very competitive at all of the schools. Harvard will be a very likely possibility and the last 3 schools are safties

“When you say MATCH for the last three, do you mean safety?”

No, he means match. Match means that you have a good shot at the school. It doesn’t mean that your admission is virtually guaranteed, as would be the case at a safety, but it means that you have a very good shot (anywhere from 50% to 75% chance of admission, according to one website).

I think that UF and FSU are safeties, though.

Got most recent AP scores:

U.S. History 5
Enviro. Sci 5
Eng. Lang. 4
Calculus AB 5

and SAT II:

USH 730
Math II 800

btw bumpp! Please :D

1- Harvard College- HIGH REACH
2- Columbia University-High Reach
3- Duke University-Reach
4- Yale University-High Reach
5- University of Pennsylvania-High Reach
6- Georgetown University-Reasonable Reach
7- Princeton University-High Reach
8- Washington University in St. Louis-Reach
9- University of Chicago-Reasonable Reach
10- Boston College-Low Reach
11- University of Florida-High Safety
12- University of Miami-Low Match/High Safety
13- Florida State University-Safety

Bump up those SATs and these could change drastically. Best of Luck please chance back
