NJCL-Latin convention over the summer. I was the only one from my school to attend since my school does not have Latin & I took it over the summer and on Saturdays at Northwestern. --Summer 07

NYLC-Leadership Convention in Washington DC --Summer 08

Hopefully Northwestern's College Prep Program this summer taking General Chemistry for college credit.

*I plan on continuing studying Latin on my own.

Wow that was really long but I'd really appreciate if anyone can reply to this. I know my ECs are pretty weak but I'm hoping I still have a chance at most of the schools.

also, I'll chance you back! just leave a link to your thread! Thanks in advance!

I think you seem like a good candidate for these schools. I think you should apply to Northwestern ED. For the UCs I’m sure it will be tougher since you’re out of state (I’m applying to a UC as well) but you should still apply if you really want to go.

Keep volunteering and keep up the good work.
Good luck!

chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/722038-usc-ucla-unc-chapel-hill.html</a></p>

I think you have a good chance at most of these schools. If you could raise your ACT scores that would be good. you should definately take the SAT with most of the schools you are looking at. They will accept the ACT, but it is still good to have the SAT and who knows, you could be better at it than the ACT! I think your pretty well rounded, nothing that stands out too much, but I think that you are a good candidate for a lot of those schools. You should definatley add some safeties to that list too! Good luck with everything!

Don’t worry, yours wasn’t too long. Wait until you see mine…:)[University of Michigan Office of Financial Aid: General Information](http://www.finaid.umich.edu/Types_of_Financial_Aid/Scholarships/scholar.asp)

You’re looking good for NU ED!

I think you’ll be able to get into all of those schools. You should try applying to second tier ivies because I think you could get into them.

Northwestern looks great! Latin is the key to everything (i’m a latin student, and my teacher told us all to apply as possible classics majors and every school will want us because of the idea of a classics major is so limited :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t know how true that is, but it sounds nice!)

Northwestern ED should be a very good match for you, you seem to be very passionate about Latin. In the slight chance that you don’t get into NW, you have a very good chance at all the other schools, probably will get into all of them.

Chance me back? Thanks!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/718159-chances-community-college-2.html</a></p>

I think you have pretty decent shots at the colleges you listed. Your gpa is great and you have some pretty impressive EC’s.

Chance me back?

ohh just one more thing

i’m not too educated about the other colleges as much, but for uc davis you have a REALLY GOOD CHANCE. and UCSD you shouldn’t worry too much about either.
i know a lot of people who dont have as impressive EC’s or gpa as you and they got in. although the only thing holding you back may be that your not from cali…

good luck tho =)

very good chance for Northwestern because your involvement with it. High level of interest plus homestate. Go bobcats!
Good for UIUC but u will conceivably have to beat out a lot Asian engineers. ACT can probably be raised. Otherwise its a good resume.

Chance back when you get the chance to:
http://mail.google.com/mail/?hl=en&tab=wm#inbox/1219a32678ba942a</a></p>

I think that Northwestern ED would be the best choice. If you’re applying for science though, I would add something (EC/volunteer/summer) that’s related to that area. Northwestern is probably a high match, but you’re in everywhere else.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/724266-please-chance-me-stanford-others.html</a> thank you!!

Ya, i think ur a very good match for Northwestern, especially since ur in-state. im from MA and a lot of my friends and their siblings got in with lower grades and about the same ECs. Also, idk if u can still do this, but like for this summer im taking a neurobiology class at harvard which is taught by one of the professors there b/c i wanna go into medicine, so if u can, try looking at some potential classes at northwestern. good job tho

Thanks everyone!
UPDATE: I’m definitely taking the General Chemistry class at Northwestern this summer.

& anymore insight/opinions would be great! i’ll be sure to chance back

Wow, way to show interest in Northwestern! I think they’ll be flattered since you’re applying ED :]
You have great stats, so good luck!

Lookin good for everything! Just so you know, the SAT doesnt take place in september. The next available one will be in October.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/726702-chance-rising-senior-very-awkward-situation.html</a>
Thanks

I think you stand a good chance at Northwestern ED. GPA and ECs look good. You should lift up your ACT score though. Also, skyrocket those essays. It will help you a lot.

Any suggestion for me ???

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/727041-what-my-chances.html</a></p>

i personally think you will get into all your choices. your association with northwestern really will make a difference i think. they probably already have a file started on you. Maybe work on getting something extraordinary in on those ec’s. Everyone’s ec’s really have room for improvement, so this is pretty generic advice-sorry. please chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/727283-chance-offer-advice.html#post1062706944</a></p>

ohh, yea. retake the act and don’t bomb the writing  you’ll probably get in anyway but you don’t wanna take any chances.

yeah i know that they’re pretty generic, but i guess a lot of people’s are that way. =/
and I’m thinking about replacing the UCs with Duke, Johns Hopkins, or Georgetown. Would this be a good idea?

Take NYLC off of your application. Although CYLC events are amazing, they aren’t exclusive, and they don’t show anything to colleges because of the tuition. Besides that, you have a great shot at every school on that list.
