<p>Hi guys, a chance thread.. appreciate any general input!</p>

<p>Rising Senior, public school ny
Puerto Rican/Ecuadorian
Income <30,000
First Generation college</p>

<p>GPA: 96.88 unweighted, 102.31 weighted.
SAT: 2200. 680 M, 740 CR, 780 W
SATII: 710 Lit, 710 USH, 640 French :/ don’t think I’m retaking, no more fee wavers… </p>

<p>AP Euro: 4
AP Chem 3
AP Eng Lang: 5
AP Human Geo: 5
AP US History: 4</p>

<p>Plan on taking a total of 9 APs.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
130 hours community service here and there.

Did ayn rand essay competition, results should come back this month.</p>

<p>I’m debating on doing questbridge.. my mom doesn’t like the idea of binding myself to a number of colleges, and I’m not sure either.</p>

<p>You’re demographics and numbers looks good for all of those schools. The one worry is that it looks like you did just about every EC for only one year and then stopped. I would not look at that too favorably and perhaps consider explaining your ECs and interests in your essay</p>

<p>I’ve done newspaper 11 and will do it 12, having a position as an editor both years.</p>

<p>literary magazine has been from 10,11, and will do it 12, again with a position in each year.</p>

<p>I was inducted into NHS as a junior, and will be in it come September.</p>

<p>harvard model congress is 11 and will do it 12.</p>

<p>key club is 9, secretary 10, and couldn’t do it 11 because of scheduling conflicts, but will participate again most likely as long as time permits.</p>

<p>and I was inducted into century club as a junior and will participate again as a senior.</p>

<p>That URM status will take you a long way. Your stats, however, are the same if not lower than other applicants to those schools.</p>

yeah I understand… do you figure I’m reaching too high?</p>

<p>^I’m not saying a 2200 isn’t good. I’m saying that many applicants will have that score, so OP’s uniqueness will be enhanced by his/her race.</p>

<p>Most are liberal arts schools are in need of hispanic students. You should get in because of your income, ethnicity, race (PR are the most underrepresented), and standardized scores. You will be fine. I think I am leaning towards questbridge also. I really do not care what school I go to as long as it is a good school. I can make the best out of my college experience, not the other way around. Do what pleases you. After all, you will be attending the college, not your mom.</p>
