Safety warning. You might want to state where you live today. SJSU is impacted this year and who knows for how long it will continue. Their policy is to take locals first (San Jose, not Bay Area), local cc transfers second and work from there with what space is left (this year there was none and they turned away several thousand).

^I’m not quite sure what you mean Lou?

First generation college student a plus, write a great essay with great recs, try some volunteer work to show a passion in something, and you’ve got a great chance from an adcom point of view.

Link to make SJSU comment clearer. Hope it helps.

I think u should do some more ecs, its never too late…write a groundbreaking essay and get wonderful recs…and pray…but I think ure a sure bet for these schools. I’m a college freshman with a 3.7 gpa and I wish to transfer to yale…my HS aren’t half as good as urs but I’m still shootin for it anyways, wish me luck…ineed it

If I’m not mistaken, for UC’s, senior grades only count if you are “on the bubble” and they ask for a "supplemental. That doesn’t mean don’t keep your grades up! You wouldn’t want your admission rescinded.

-UCD match

Privates generally care more about ECs than publics, which is why I think USC is a reach rather than a match, and UOP a match rather than a safety.

I think you’ve done an excellent job putting this list together. You’ve got a great mix of schools, and your choices make sense given your interests and academic record. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch dntw8up! I’ll try to mix in some more ECs.

There are small holes or weaknesses in your application, but I think with good recommendations and an excellent essay that really shows your personality, they’re all definitely low reaches/high-mid matches.

Keep up the good work!

ur score is pretty good for the UCs,gpa is a bit slow,i’d say low chance at UCB,UCLA,other UCs are fine.
