One of my activities in Common App was teaching myself how to program and programming various things

ESSAYS/REC LETTERS
– My Common App essay is good. I think. It was about being in a place that I wasn’t familiar with and having to get to the hotel before dark while trying not to get soaked in the rain, and I used that to talk about how I was a problem solver and how life’s challenges make it fulfilling.
– My other essays/supplements were all decent (I believe). at least one for nearly every school focused on my time in robotics and/or programming. When I had the “why this school” ones I always mentioned unique specifics about the school
– I didn’t read any of my rec letters but I have no reason to believe that they’re bad. One was from a science teacher who I’ve had for three years and she once told me that I was one of the best students that she has ever had, and that I deserved to go to a summer program even though the acceptance rate was 3% (I tear up every time I think of this lol I’m gonna miss her next year). Second was from a math teacher that I had for two years, I am not close with her but she likes me. Counselor likes me a lot, I work in her office during study hall so I know that I’m not just a number to her.

OTHER
Income bracket: $100,000 - $200,000
Race: Half Asian half white

Computer Science major
Ohio resident
School is tiny and does not rank.

Any chances would be appreciated! I am very nervous waiting for acceptances and rejections

Honestly you’re good for all of them, even Stanford. Although Stanford is obviously a reach for anyone, you’ve put yourself in great position to get in.

Don’t mention your Asian half, then your chances are good at all of them. Good luck!

@bogeyorpar lol too late. Plus my first and middle names are very Chinese, as are my mom’s and her educational history includes time at a university in china. Hopefully that doesn’t play a huge role haha

For the UC’s, are your parents okay with paying OOS tuition of $60K per year?
No financial aid for non-residents.

@“aunt bea” Yep. Forgot to put it in main post: I don’t have any financial constraints; tuition is not a problem.
